the Repugs could use the following - you can't change the administration (i.e., house/senate) while there is a war going on.

1. Scary thought
Could they benefit from this? Surely not; an earlier thread showed that the American people support the Democrats more than the Republicans. Considering how much Emperor Duh-bya and company have manipulated fear of 9/11 to suit their own purposes, anything's possible.

That's assuming, of course, that a war comes out of this conflict. Maybe there won't be a war.

2. I have been telling people on this board for some time
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 10:13 PM by Freedom_from_Chains
that Democrats would be far better off if instead of worrying about who they are running for the election to start worrying about if there is going to be an election.

But no, I'm being a reactionary, so we'll see. So far it looks like the neo-cons are right on track with their plan of world dominance. The current crises in the middle east is just the beginning.

8. Why does everyone think an Administration can't be changed. . .
during "wartime"? Had Sherman not captured Atlanta in September of ’64, the nation would have tossed aside Mr Lincoln with nary a second thought -- and he knew it and made private arrangements for the event of his loss as late as August of ’64. So the more accurate historical description is, we don't change successful Administrations in the middle of a war, which should give small comfort indeed to the incompetent boobs in the White House today.

This scenario is not out of the realms of possibility.

10. I don't think Bush wants to be President after '08...
it's a hell of a tough job. I think he'll be ready to pass it along to the next guy.
