Here's the Name of a True American "War Hero".
Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

Yeah, a real man.

A real war hero.

I am sick of every national presidential campaign becoming slave to which candidate was a greater war hero. Who saved someone. Who got saved by someone.

Is this what we've become?

Is this truly the basis of how we choose moral leadership in this country?

The Republicans do it. The Democrats do it.

You want to know who is a real war hero in my eyes? Someone who was truly heroic about war. Someone who rejected the politically safe thing to do and voted against the Iraqi War Resolution...just one year after the events of September 11th when the nation was whipped up in fear and wanting revenge...even if it was against someone who had nothing to do with the events of 9/11.

Someone who cared not one iota about being called a weak pacifist, a traitor and unpatriotic.

Someone who did the right thing?

Dennis Kucinich, heroic on the issue of war.

Dennis Kucinich: An American War Hero.

4. Yep.
You can't beat Dennis. He's the real deal. I hope he runs for Governor or Senator here in Ohio. Lord knows, we need him.

6. DK is a hero
Voting for the right things regardless.
In all honesty on the war hero thing, it's providing a contrast between bush whom conservatives pretty much paint that way and the real thing which two candidates are. Pointing out the difference between a chickenhawk who says this war is about patriotism versus candidates that have been there and for which war is not a political convenience or opportunity is an effective contrast. Sorry that bothers you. But I support DK's position.

7. FWIW

"They have not wanted Peace at all; they have wanted to be spared war -- as though the absence of war was the same as peace. Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict -- alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.... "
