White House Accuses Clinton of Sending ‘Flowers and Chocolates’ To Kim Jong-il
http://www.thinkprogress.org/

Facing increasing criticism of their North Korea policy from the right and left, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow lashed out at the Clinton administration. Snow accused the Clinton administration of going to North Korea with “flowers and chocolates.” He said the Clinton strategy “failed” and President Bush had “learned from that mistake.”

Let’s review the progress of North Korea’s nuclear program during the last three administrations:

1. George H. W. Bush: one to two bombs’ worth of plutonium

2. Bill Clinton: zero plutonium

3. George W. Bush: 4-6 nuclear weapons’ worth of plutonium

There are legitimate criticisms of every administration’s approach to North Korea’s nuclear program. But the Clinton administration’s strategy, objectively, has been the most successful.

3. The statute of limitations
on blaming the previous administration runs out after 4 years in office - and that's being generous.

This administration out does all previous administrations at shirking any and all responsibility for their failures.

4. If possible Snowjob has less creditability than Snotty.
What a piece of work Snowjob, citing military casualties as another number, invoking the tar-baby, a real pompous ass representing the biggest crooks to ever inhabit American Government.

Kim Jong Il made a prime fool of George Bush. The only problem is Kim is really a threat and Bush has absolutely no strategy to deal with North Korea.

5. ABC
Always blame Clinton. The Repukes or their descendents will probably still be doing it 100 years after he's dead. I kind of wonder what sort of bad things will come up in the future for them to blame on him.

6. translation: THEY have no coherent policy, hence the 'but billy' excuse.
what a predictable thing. when all else fails, blame clinton. another post talks of a reporter rocking der chimp back on his heels by pointing out nk's nuclear arsenal has grown during der chimps 'reign'. apparently the clip is classic, and of course what is his reply? 'can you verify that?', which is of course, no reply at all but a stumbling bumbling stuttering fumble.

"The title of that was 'Kim Jong-il lobbing nukes at the United States,' but it didn't say anything about exactly when or exactly where."

(And the Gores yet again are laughing their asses off).

9. Are these the same "flowers and chocolates"...
...that the Iraqis were supposed to shower upon our invading troops--per the prophesy of Dick Cheney?

Yup, folks. That's why our soldiers were never showered with "flowers and chocolates" from the Iraqis.

Clinton gave them away years ago.

12. Hey, it was the fashion at the time!!!
Reagan, as I mentioned elsewhere, sent a chocolate cake AND an autographed Bible to Ayatullah Khomeini!!! Man, someone could get some serious dough for that Bible on e-bay...

And ya gotta wonder what sorts of gifts that Poppy and Carapina Noriega exchanged back in the day...

they're dredging up gift history!

I hope Clinton gives a rebuttal speech on this whole NK thing that the bushits are accusing him of..like he just gave a speech on how much he liks bush's immigration policy.

13. Clinton had N Korea contained
Clinton was willing to go to war in N Korea to keep the fuel rods in international hands. Here is an awsome article on the subject:

15. It is wrong
It is unethical for a standing President to blame the previous President. Remember that President Clinton is still to be consulted on matters of national security. So Bush gets his cronies to blame Clinton for his blunder.

18. no, it is only unethical for a standing President
to blame a previous President if the the previous President is a Democrat.

IOKIYR

I distinctly remember this "ethical rule" mentioned time and time again right after Clinton took office. It has never been uttered once in our media after Bush II took office.
