Whose Freedom? The Battle Over America’s Most Important Idea

Who hasn't heard of Don't Think of an Elephant, George Lakoff's groundbreaking book on progressive political framing? Many of us use it to constantly hone our message and frame the debate.

Professor Lakoff's newest book, Whose Freedom? The Battle Over America’s Most Important Idea, takes on the two different worldviews which shape (and divide) our society today. He'll be joining us Wednesday, July 12, 2006 on Blog for America for a live online discussion of Whose Freedom? and his other works.

Join us at 2:00 PM Eastern time for a chance to ask your burning framing questions, or let Professor Lakoff know what his work has done for you.

1. That is great news!
Lakoff is one of the best minds on our side. I can't help but think his wisdom can only help us at this time. Aside from Election Reform, the way the Democrats frame their issues is the one biggest thing that holds us back.

Thanks for posting this!

Is this going to be open to all, or do you have to be a DFA member to log on?

2. They are putting the comments section at the DFA Link.
We are having some fits about it. You have to log in to take part. I think you can read without logging in, but you can't post comments.

The DFA Link is being used now as the organizational tool, and it is really like the old Meet-Up site. Trouble is a lot of the people on my DFA lists locally hate signing up for anything online, they only have email and read news online.

But it was that way with Meet-up also, I guess.

I have an account at the DFA Link, but I have not made an account at the blog yet. That just started last week. Who knows how it will work out. DFA Link is growing pretty fast again, but only 1/4 of my local list are signed up....they just won't put their names online.

So anyway, you can read without logging in. I guess the reason was the trolls taking over the comments section at the blog.
