When you attack Greens and Naderites you will shed voters!!!!
The only reason why many of these people are with you is because, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"!!!

Attacking these people for voting for Nader is counterproductive. When these people joined up with this party they did something that regular Dem voters were struggeling to do; THEY GAVE THIS PARTY A FUCKING SPINE!!!!!!

How many Dems from 2000 directed a movie like F911?

How many Dems were taking on Bush when it was UNPOPULAR to do so?

How many Dems were selling out concert venues and making anti Bush records?

These are the Michael Moores, Eddie Vedders, Bill Mahers, Jim Hightowers and Arianna Huffingtons you are attacking. They were very instrumental in the 2004 election and I doubt Kerry gets the turnout w/o these folks in the fold. They are also people like me who busted their asses for Kerry in 2004 and constantly signaled the flag of voter desenfranchisement to many in the party.

I even attended the convention and bit my lip despite the fact that many of the delegates and Dem party folks were rude and disinterested in engaging people on the street that approached them.

I will also not be scapegoated for the 2000 election!!! You folks want to point fingers? Point them at Republicans and the party leadership that ignored the plight of disenfranchised african American voters. Point them at the party braintrust who takes in interest in going after the large pool of disinterested NON VOTERS in this country.

Most of all, point that finger at yourselves!!! Politics is very much an in "inside job" and takes a lot of self improvement exercises in order to make things better. In other words it requires changing attitudes of others as well as yourself.

I, for one am extremely dissapointed in the so called "fight against Bush" this party promised to stage over the last two years. I am hangin on here by a thread and I will not be scapegoated for the ineffectivness of Dem leadership and Voter fraud by Republicans. I am willing to bet that there are many others like me on this board that feel the same way.

Some of you claim you cant win with third parties in the mix and you can't win w/o us. Fucking act like it!!!!!!

2. It should be: "This is why you should vote for me..." not "You are wrong
for voting for that other candidate."

4. The redundant slapfights seem a convenient diversion from creating viable
political cooperation with a broad range of Democratic voters. And a way to avoid honest discussion about progressive values that some Democrats need to realize are not "far far left."

5. If they vote for NADER, they aren't voting for the Dem, so screw them
Bill Maher is a LIBERTARIAN, not a Green. He backed KERRY in the last election. Michael Moore backed Kerry, too: http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php?messageDate=2004-11-01 Arianna ran as an INDEPENDENT, not a Green, against Arnold. and supported Kerry in the last election.

Vedder along with Pearl Jam also made numerous appearances at the Vote for Change tour which supported Senator John Kerry during his run for presidential office in 2004. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Vedder

So, your point, whatever it was, is completely LOST ON ME. I have no problem with third party voters who VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT.

It's the ones who vote for assholes like Nader, funded by the GOP, that I take issue with.

What's your flamebait about, here??? If you want to vote for Nader, go ahead, but don't proselytize to Democrats on a Democratic message board, who are trying to get DEMOCRATS elected.

7. I agree with the OP
Scapegoating disaffected progressives and liberals for the evils of the establishment is wrong.

And for the record, I voted Kerry.

But I voted Nader out of Texas in 2000. I also voted for Ross Perot...both times.

I have never liked the Democratic party establishment because I grew up in the 80's with "Reagan Democrats" who glad-handed and rubber-stamped Reagan's repressive policies...I knew the problem was both parties back then.
