If by "solving" he meant "lying about and contributing to", you would be correct. From
United Press International:
In an interview with People magazine, President George W. Bush said there is "a worthy debate" on whether global warming is caused by human activities.
"It's a debate, actually, that I'm in the process of solving by advancing new technologies, burning coal cleanly in electric plants, or promoting hydrogen-powered automobiles, or advancing ethanol as an alternative to gasoline," he said.
Bush said the major question on climate change is whether it is caused by human activities.
I'm reminded of something
I wrote earlier about "An Incovenient Truth":
Casting doubt on something so clear as the disastrous, growing effects of global warming has long been a right-wing goal. In the movie, for instance, (Al) Gore presents a study done on a large sample of peer-reviewed journals looking at the percentage of articles casting doubt on global warming. The study found no dissenting opinion. None. Gore then presented a similar study of mainstream news reports. More than half of the reports cast doubt on the issue the scientific community is unanimously behind. So, in this way, the denial lobby has already won, their chief product being doubt, not energy.
