Specter: Agreement on eavesdropping near / A Question --
Specter: Agreement on eavesdropping near

WASHINGTON - The White House is nearing an agreement with Congress on legislation that would write President Bush's warrantless surveillance program into law, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman said Sunday.

Entire sickening article:

Can anyone tell me how long it will take, if and when the Democrats regain the dominance of the House and the Senate (and maybe even the White House) before this "law" can be struck back out of the books?

3. Declared Unconstitutional, by THIS Supreme Court?
The one Bush installed with the help of a ball-less House and Senate? That one? Maybe when pigs fly... That's why I asked the question I did. How are the Democrats ever going to undo this Byzanntine Knot the Bushies are tying our laws up into???

5. Oh sure, they may be in favor of a get out of jail card for Bush
But if you remember correctly there was a hue and cry over the search of William Jefferson's
Office, and warrantless searches is a judicial matter and may contaminate court cases,
they get interested when it's them

2. Name one law since prohabition thats ever been struck from the books.
So far no Democratic president has struck down Reagans Deregulation laws. Nixons laws are still on the books as well as Reagans war on drug laws. It seems once these laws are ok'd neither side is willing to take them down.

7. So, are you saying there is no hope that the Democrats
would strike this from the books?

I am really distressed by the news of this "deal". Instead of accountability, our rights and freedoms are being voted away from us by Republican committees. It is so sad.

8. I'm just saying look to the past and see the trend. Rethugs do the dirty
work then the dems come in and leave things the way they are. Just something I noticed with deregulation and the air traffic controllers. Did Clinton give them their jobs back after getting the white house? Did Clinton regulate what Reagan Deregulated? Seems thats been the SOP since Nixon, did Carter change the laws back to the way they were before Nixon and Ford? I am a democrat, but I think its up to we the people to make things right and remind our Elected employees do the peoples business not the lobbiests business.

6. If Bush robbed a bank, then
Arlen Spector would pass a law saying it's legal for the president to rob a bank.
