7. Blame it on Rick Santorum....
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 05:40 PM by Suich
He came up with an old report that is unclassified, not de-classfied as he said, and has been refuted by the Dept. of Defense. It talks about finding empty sarin and mustard gas containers, left over from Desert Storm. Hannity jumped all over it yesterday...can't wait to see what he sez today!

The DoD has said Santorum is wrong!

:hi:

15. There's been about 500 "warheads"
found since the war began - mostly stuff like emptied-out mortar shells with some residue, stuff like that. Anything full was likely to have been left out in the boonies since 1991, and would probably be fairly useless now. Mostly mustard gas, from what I recall, which is incredibly nasty, but hardly a "weapon of mass destruction," even according to most people who got splashed with the stuff in the past.

For comparison, Iraq expended about 100,000-200,000 gas shells during the Iran-Iraq war.
