Attention Dem 'Appeasers" ......
I don't give a shit HOW you vote ..... you're going to be smeared right along with the brave ones who voted **against* this stupid fucking war because you're a Democrat.

Keep that in mind, you traitorous cowards. You accomplish NOTHING by voting with the Repubs. They'll get what they want without you. You don't help them and you sure as shit don't help us.

What the fuck is WRONG with you? Do you think that somehow your sorry fucking vote will cover your sorry fucking ass?

Get spine or get lost ..... In fact, just change your fucking party affilliation and let us run a REAL Democrat against your sorry fucking asses.

Today ...... you disgust me. Stay out of my face.

5. And here just yesterday I wrote a very polite email to my congresswoman
telling her how disappointed that I was in her vote, how those of us who had worked very hard to elect her had not done so so that she could be a rubberstamp tot he Bush Administration, how the issue was not about to go away because the Bush Administration had no real plan, and no capacity to be heard or to implement a real plan even if they had one, how John Murtha was correct and that the Iraq situation was only going to get worse, and how next time vote on the issue came up I fervently hoped that she would find the courage to do the right thing.

I really don't know which approach is better.

I too, am disappointed and sympathize, and if the Democratic primary hadn't come and gone long ago I would strongly consider supporting someone else--but I am certainly not going to vote for her Republican opponent unless hell freezes over and he comes out strongly, publicly and irrevocably advocating withdrawal from Iraq as soon as possible, and essentially supporting the Finegold plan, or something sooner.

I am disgusted, but I did write as stated above to Ms. Herseth, and should she come around I might actively support her again.

6. When you get to the reality of the actual votes
This is pretty much always the way it is. Lip service about the Patriot Act only to vote for it TWICE almost unanimously.

Hell, the folks that want to pull out of Iraq right now will be voting Dem regardless and they definitely know that. They'll use these votes to court other voters.

17. Not me (I'm in Jane Harman's district). I'll be voting Dem Socialist
in November (or possibly Peace and Freedom Party, depending on which parties\candidates qualify for the General Election ballot).

I've pretty much decided I'm no longer a Democrat. May I still come and post and read at DU?

15. off topic: I knew a guy who wrote your sig line...
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 06:14 PM by Zodiak Ironfist
on a T-shirt with a magic marker and walked around with while it putting up with all kinds of abuse. I knew him in college in Southern Texas in 1989-1990. We never knew where he got that slogan, and after that first year, we never saw him again.

He was cool in his own quiet way.

So I gotta ask..where did you get that slogan?

30. I found the sig. purely by happenstance
I was searching for progressive bumper stickers and slogans one day and happened accross it somewhere. It made me laugh out loud, and it's more than appropriate today.

You are assuming they voted the way they did to avoid taunts by the Republicans, not because they thought it was the right thing to do.

19. Agreeing with Bush is the right thing to do? Since when? Example?
Please give us an example from the past where agreeing with Bush was the right thing to do. Then state how that position benefitted the Democratic party in elections or benefitted the U.S. as a whole.

These Democrats are cowardly idiots- dont they know the GOP/media will just make stuff up nomatter how they vote?

I agree-They may as well vote like moderates or progressives instead of Right-wingers in light of this fact.

21. Great post Husb2Sparkly
Yeah Democrat candidates, make NO mistake about it! Your party affiliation isn't going to mean jack-shit with me while I am in the voting booth. If you vote to keep this war in Iraq for even just ONE more day, I don't care what your reason is, you can count on me leaving that spot on the ballot blank. Because as far as I am concerned you're a fucking Repub. And that goes for other foreign and domestic issues too. If you vote the way of the Repub, you're a fucking Repub.

Example: Diana Feinstein's seat in the Senate will be left blank on my ballot. Reason: Because she took a position against my union when we were locked-out. If you're not going to represent me, and especially if you represent against me, you're NOT going to get my vote.......period!

If ANY of you Democrat candidates want to be a Democrat, then represent us fucking Democrats. If you don't, then as far as I am concerned, you're a fucking Repub who's a poser.

22. Kicked and recommended, but here's the rub
Can you actually get a letter like that to the democrats that voted with the republicans?

I mean I love it and thank you for writing it, but how do we get it to where it might do some good?

Peace.

23. The sad part is, we shouldn't have to be getting them a letter...
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 08:21 PM by Totally Committed
They should already know they represent us, and we elected them to do that by voting in our best interest. They have polling to tell them how we feel, and they ignored it today for THEIR own self-interest.

What we need to "get to them" is that each and every one of their jobs is now on the line for their bad performance, and no corporate influence or money is gonna save them if they keep voting this way. They need to DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THE PEOPLE, or the people need to vote their sorry appeasing weak-willed a**es out of office.

We can and should start with Joe Lieberman. The day he loses, our stock with the rest of Congress goes up 1000%. He needs to go, and we need to do the sending. The minute they know we mean business and can deliver on their unelections, they'll pay us more notice. Too bad it has to be that way, but it is.

25. Yes, I had an intersting call
from Hillary's Senate re-election campaign. They informed met he right wingers would be coming after her with everything they've got and Hillary needed my help. I couldn't help but laugh when I told them that was a shame, considering how hard she worked to win them over.

She (and the other appeasers) shoulda thought about that a long time ago. Now of course they remember who the base is, now that they need money. Too late. Nothing from me.

26. I agree...
nothing from me for Hillary, either. She is the Queen of Trangulation and Appeaasement in the name of Pure Ambition. HER Ambition to be the first female POTUS. She'll take us down with her, if we allow it. Let's not, I say. She'll just have to struggle on with only her 50 million or whatever she has right now. She won't get a dime (or a vote, btw) from me.

28. If they voted against withdrawl, I can only assume they want to stay
in Iraq.

I'm not even going to give them credit for being intimidated to vote against their beliefs. The only thing their vote tells me is that THEY"RE OKAY WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING IN IRAQ.

I'm thoroughly disgusted with the United States Senate.
