Fox News hosts criticize Coulter....you know things are bad. Video.
Courtesy of Newshounds, who watch Fox so we won't have to do so.

http://www.newshounds.us/2006/06/21/coulter_shoots_off_mouth_again.php

"...Ann Coulter slandered Democratic National Chair Howard Dean Wednesday (June 21, 2006) by claiming that he is in line to be head of Al Qaeda in Iraq. And she made clear she was not saying it to be funny.

Appearing on Fox News' "Dayside," Coulter was ostensibly there to debate Democrat Susan Estrich about the war in Iraq. But "Dayside" co-hosts Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick brought up some of Coulter's recent statements attacking widows of 9/11 victims. Coulter insisted that she meant to call them "harpies," that she believes what she wrote, and did not do it just for publicity.

...."Each person moves up in Al Qaeda. The number 3 guy’s number 2 now. The number 11 guy’s number 10, and the number 48 guy is now Howard Dean," she said, looking very pleased with herself as the audience laughed and applauded.

"And by the way, I meant to say that. If you want to know if I really meant to say that, yes."

Estrich called Coulter's comment "absurd," but as she spoke, Coulter talked over her, mumbling something, and moving her head from side to side. It was her typical bizarre performance."

1. people continue their behavior until they are stopped. call bush
on it: why do you endorse her views Mr Bush?

can you sing?

BTW this sounds like an actionable remark, legally speaking. unfortunately a law suit would just give her more publicity.

she has claimed dean is a member of a terrorist group that america is trying to benefit because our president is such a good al quedaa recruiter.

2. Who was the male anchor who said she did not really mean it?
Edited on Wed Jun-21-06 10:36 PM by madfloridian
I think she really made them nervous actually calling him part of a terrorist group. I think she crossed some lines.

Ok, here's some names from the post, don't know them.

"Appearing on Fox News' "Dayside," Coulter was ostensibly there to debate Democrat Susan Estrich about the war in Iraq. But "Dayside" co-hosts Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick brought up some of Coulter's recent statements attacking widows of 9/11 victims. Poor quality video, hard to tell who's who.

11. he is one of the few who isn't so bad
Mike Jerrick. he is also gay so i wonder how it is to be in that right wing atmosphere.

but i wouldn't call what he did criticizing her. i think he is afraid to say what he really wants on many things becauese it's Fox News and he would get fired.

13. He said like you don't really mean that do you?
A couple of times.

Sorry I used the word criticized, should have used "reacted", but isn't it a moot point to make?

They were seemingly embarrassed by her. That is a good thing.

15. that makes more sense
but still i wouldn't take that as meaning much. Mike and Juliet together aren't as right wing as some others. not in the gross way many of the others on Fox are. so it's not unusual for them to react this way to her.

the fact is that most people would react in outrage if someone who leans liberal had said this about a conservative.

3. The woman on the other side of the split screen...
...is one of their weak "liberal" commentators. Just sits their and whines asking Ann why she's so mean to us (does she honestly think Ann has a good reason she's not telling us).

8. Might have.
I'm just going on what she was saying on Outfoxed. Her and Alan Colmes were vying for Hannity's "favorite liberal" or something in a clip in there.

5. We have such an opportunity here
Coulter could be made the face of the Republican Party. God knows she's all over the shows that support the Repug party.

But we try to ignore her, or play nice with her or try to imply she doesn't really mean what she says.

Take her at face value and link her to the Republicans every chance we get. Why the hell not? That's what she wants! So give it to her.

Bend over Ann. You are now the new face of the Republican Party. Since they won't denounce her, it must be true.

6. Absolutely!
I frequent a right wingnut forum. Every chance I get, I bring Anthrax Annie up, and insinuate (in a civil way) that she is the face of the Repub Party. Not too many are claiming her, which maybe means they are trying to distance themselves from her ignorant, hateful ramblings.

I say we use her. Once she is viewed as the liability she is, the Repubs will throw her under the bus, like they do everyone else once they're all used up. And maybe, if we're very very lucky we won't ever hear from her again.

10. Ever again maybe too long....
The question then becomes what hippocrite do they replace her with? Keeping her in a weakend form might better serve to our advantage.

I said this many times. Republicans do this all the time successfully.

Take the out of context comment of some actor or someone that made a crazy statement but even though this person has nothing to do with the Democratic party. BINGO pretend he personally speaks for the whole party.

Hannity would do it like this if he was on the other side. He'd have some senator on and he'd say over and over Ann Coulter said this... Does she speak for you. So that's what your party is all about.

23. Remember when....
...someone said Al Gore said he invented the Internet?

Turns out, Gore never made that claim, but people THINK he did, & it's still following him around to this day.

Feed the attention whore's hunger for attention & definitely make her the New Republican Face! Make her outlandish statements follow her around for eternity! I hope the "harpies" comment is in her obituary one day.

25. Yes! You beat me to it.
Someone in the Newshound comments section said it too:

"I say make Ann an issue in the upcoming election. Make her the poster child of the Republican party. This is what conservatives think. This is how they act. This what they are. Independents will pull the lever in favor of Democrats in record numbers."

It's an excellent idea. No matter how they try to spin it, Ann Coulter articulates what the Republican Party thinks. We need to make them deny something for a change. We need to stop letting them frame the debate.

the putrid audience laughed and applauded when she said Dean is #48 on terrorist list. imagine if someone had said that about any Republican . the entire right wing whore media would endlessly play it about how they were victimized.

22. The proper tactic in dealing with moron annpuke is to...
laugh in her face at each an every stupid bizarre thing she says. And not just ha ha laugh, I mean a gut busting laugh till you cry and soil yourself laugh.

That is the single most effective tactic against her and her off meds ramblings.

I saw it once and she shut right up, and like a vail being pulled away, those around her saw her for the mentally ill shill she really is.

So laugh and laugh heartily!
