Bush tells Europe to put itself in our shoes & then S.T.F.U., basically...
Bush says Nine-Eleven drives U-S policy

VIENNA, Austria President Bush says Europeans who blast U-S foreign policy should put themselves in America's shoes.
He took questions in Austria today about the unpopular Iraq war, confrontation with Iran, North Korea and the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.

A reporter asked about a poll from the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press that found Europeans see the U-S involvement in Iraq as more of a danger than Iran's nuclear program. Bush dismissed that idea as "absurd," saying the U-S is an open democracy and a threat to no one.

Bush says Nine-Eleven changed America. He says European critics of the U-S might see the attacks as a "moment," but that he feels the attacks required a fundamental change in U-S foreign policy.

1. Ironically, Europe DID put themselves in our shoes and got pissed on...
Remember the headline in 'Le Monde' on 9/12? "Today We Are All Americans".

Bet we never see THAT sentiment again.

4. Yep...one more instance of international goodwill being squandered...
I once asked radio host Guy James how many post-Bush presidential terms we'd have to go through before we started feeling like America again (assuming the right person gets in office). He said "three."

That sounds about right...12 years to repair what happened in 8.

In some instances, it'll never get repaired at all...but when I see the international protests, they are very Bush-centric. I think that if we make the right moves and show sincerity and consistency in our actions, maybe...just maybe...our international friends will write Junior off as a bad memory, just like us.

:patriot:

6. Bush says Nine-Eleven drives U-S policy.
Actually, 9/11 drives republican politics. It's only natural that the chimp would conflate the two.

8. I hope we would be more intelligent about handling such a brutal...
attack. As I recall, many countries had citizens killed on 9/11 and and I don't believe any European leader with the exception of Blair, believes this is the way to handle the extreme Muslim fanatics.

Bush is the idiot, not everyone else.
