3. Edwards will probably move slightly higher in TN
and I'm assuming Dean will lose support

4. Clark is there today campaigning :)
So I hope we see a little bounce from his win in OK and his presence on the trail.

5. I have a feeling TN will turn out as close at OK...
between Clark and Edwards, but Kerry is most likely to win at this point.

10. I Hope Clark Gets a Bounce From OK
But I wonder how he'll get that bounce when so many media outlets can't choke out the name "Clark" and "won" in the same sentence. Or if they do, they qualify it, as so:

"The race in Oklahoma a virtual dead-even tie for first place."
"And Senator John Edwards picks up major momentum, winning South Carolina and virtually tying for first in Oklahoma."
"Meanwhile, retired General Wesley Clark barely captured first place in Oklahoma against John Edwards, who won South Carolina... (continue story about John Edwards)."

Ad infinitum.

6. i'm surprised edwards is as low in the tn polls as he is
perhaps last night's s.c. victory will bump that up some.

if kerry does well here, i'd have to attribute it to momentum and jumping on the bandwagon. tn is an awfully conservative state, yet one i'd think would embrace edwards' message.

7. If he had a message to embrase, other than the same old .....
lets lift people up, this is a message of Hope....

Conservative States need Details and they have a huge distrust in Trial Lawyers....

Comes off as a snake oil salesman.

9. I agree...
Tennessee isn't going to be a "me too" southern state. They're too far west to just go along with the crowd...they're more independent. I think Clark should do very well there. They may see Kerry as a little too "northeastern liberal", though I'm sure Kerry will do well from some of the name recognition.

Don't give Tennessee away to Edwards in this fight...I'd be surprised if they give him much more than 3rd. place.

11. i'd like to humbly disagree
southerners have been receiving a message of hope from preachers for 200 years. and faith means a lot to southerners as a group. sometimes it's all they have.

for some poor, rural southerners, someone offering to lift them up and acknowledge their plight is music to their ears. also, it's a group that doesn't think lawyers are snake oil salesmen. it's a group that believes lawyers are there to help protect them from big business.

don't get me wrong. general clark has a very positive message and could do a lot of for the country. in fact, i gave serious consideration to voting for him.

but i went with edwards cause i wanted to vote for a democrat.
