Saw Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" as a Progressive Fund Raiser this a.m.
It's Good and our theater was packed...so it was a successful fundraiser. Our US Representative was there and he had gone to Antartica and set the movie up nicely with some background on how they are doing the "core samples" that prove that we are in some deep trouble if we don't start working on solutions.

All through the movie, though, I couldn't help feeling that Al Gore thinks he has some "unfinished business" in DC. I think woven into this movie is his desire to have "one more chance." I think he would run if "drafted." I don't think he will declare unless the polling for the other candidates starts to look bad. If it does then he might come in late, if his own poll numbers look better.

But...the Right Wing will throw everything they have at him. He's the biggest threat to them because he has so much approval from those of us who became active and have fought for Election Reform and Party Reform since "Selection 2000" which was a Day that will live in "Infamy" (quoting FDR about Pearl Harbor." I don't know if our own Dem Establishment won't throw some stuff at him too because we "grassroots" aren't a major factor for them. The establishment feels with proper money and backing that other candidates have a better chance.

8. I'll be int erested to hear from others seeing this movie as to what
"YOU" all get from it. There are so many layers and levels..that will be important in '08 Election.

It's a Good Movie even if one isn't looking at "subtitles."

with the DNC to secure the machines before the election or ban electronic voting machines altogether and return to paper ballots.

5. blm...we have little support from "Party Heirarchy" and less from public
so we have to hope. But, the example in CA of Elections Officials feeling "free" to take home the Machines does lead one to wonder: "Who is watching out over us?" :eyes:

Who?

6. Dean, as head of the DNC, should be all over what happened in Ca.
He really needs to convene Dem members of every election board and give them a weeklong training session on election and machine fraud issues.

9. I got something different.
On the political side, the disappointment was there. But I truely feel he has figured out that for something to actualy be done on this issue, some one has to be out there really PRing it. And I'm not talking about extreamests. But someone in a logical way, that people will listen to.

Then and only then will people force their elected to take the subject seriously.

He points out that he TRIED to do it when he was elected. HE shows the response to his attempted. That is a pretty relistic stuff there. People go to DC with their hearts on their sleaves.. only to get their heart broken with reality.

If ya want something done, ya gota go to the people. Explain it to the people on THEIR LEVEL. When Clinton was in Arkansas, that is exactly what he did with several issues and it really pissed of the power structure there.

If he ran for President, that is 2 years of campaign and hopefully 4 years in DC.. hopefully even more. During that time, he would not be able to focus on this issue.

HOWEVER as President, he could STILL make a documentary and because he was President, get people to tune into it. Pretty much doing the same thing. Bring it up in speaches, encourage education on the subject, etc.

So I can see him weighing the options, which would be better to help with his 'passion.' ALl politicains has them. This just happens to be one of Al Gores. And it's one a support him in doing.

However, would I vote for him.. Dang right I would. I would fight even harder this time then I did last time. And I fought pretty hard back then. No slouching here.. Tee HEe

11. I know ......he has to feel the "people want it" before he makes
a move and he may be very happy where he is these days having already "worn his heart on his sleeve going to DC" (as you point out in your post.)

Thanks..what you say does make sense. Why would he put himself through this having learned his lesson. And, I would vote for him once again, TOO! :-)'s
