Claws Come Out On "The View"

Posted Jun 16th 2006 2:58PM by TMZ Staff

Come back, Meredith! Now that the show's smoothest operator has ditched "The View," everything's descended into total and utter chaos, if this morning's edition was any indication.

Comedienne Sandra Bernhard appeared on the show and, amidst a discussion about Laura Bush, characterized the First Lady, with her typical acidity as "heavily medicated." Co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck, a vocally ardent Republican, took acute exception and tried to defend Mrs. Bush's work on childhood education, whereupon Bernhard called Hasselbeck "honey" – and then the sparks really flew.

It was all a bit too much for Joy Behar to bear, apparently.

3. Maybe Barbara Walters could toss a chair or two!
That Bushbot cohost is rather cretinous, to put it kindly. What a lockstepper!

4. Elizabeth Hasselbeck could use some counseling...
...if we could muster a SMALL fraction of that sense of OUTRAGE toward the SENSELESS DEATHS of 2500 Americans soldiers, maybe...just MAYBE...we'd be on the road to getting our country back.

:patriot:

2. It was hilarious
It was already pretty tense because Sandra had offended Star with comments about Mariah Carey and how she turned from white to black right before our eyes and it went downhill from there. Sandra was speaking out against the women behind the Bush administration that are just sitting by watching women's rights fly out the door. Hopefully there is a complete clip of her visit because you can't get the full gist of things unless you see it all.

6. From that clip, it seems like much ado about nothing.
Guess I would have had to see the whole thing.

5. Sandra Bernhard should not have started a battle of wits with an unarmed
opponent.

There is no way that dimwit Hasselbeck could even come close to a meaningful interchange with Bernhard. Sandra could chew her up and spit her out.

You almost feel uneasy for what they do to the dimbulbs with books to sell who can't even figure out their utter ridiculousness has been exposed.

Almost.

14. Now just imagine...
It's November 2004 and some repug punk like Ann Coulter calls Teresa Kerry a nut or a controlling moneybags, and Katie Couric practically comes unglued. Maybe Couric isn't the best comparison, but you get the drift. Survivor girl wasn't making sense: education? heavily medicated?
Aside from the semi-rhyme you can make between education and medication, there's nothing that makes sense in her diatribe.
I had no idea she was a bushbot like that!
