Dunkelbarger takes off the gloves: "Stephen Lynch is a Republican!"
Steven Lynch, incumbent USA Rep from the Massachusetts 9th CD, is an embarassement to the Massachusetts Congressional delegation. Phil Dunkelbarger is doing his best to educate the voters of Lynch's consitant voting and coziness with the * administration and rethugs. Please give Phil your support.

IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DUNKELBARGER FOR CONGRESS COMMITTEE
125 SUNRISE ROAD
WESTWOOD, MA
www.dunkdem.org
781 278 8866 (fax)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stephen Lynch is a Republican!

Today Stephen Lynch showed his true color – Red. Stephen Lynch was the only Member of the MA Congressional Delegation to vote with the Republicans on their “Stay the Course” H.R. 861. The MA Delegation vote was 9 Democrats Nay and Stephen Lynch Yea. Even Rep. Neal, Lynch’s sometime neocon soulmate, voted with the rest of the MA Delegation to repudiate this Republican sham.

This is the first time he’s stood all alone since he joined Tom Delay and George Bush in the attempt to reconnect Terri Schiavo’s feeding tubes.

Just a week ago, Stephen Lynch voted to cede control of the Internet to the communications conglomerates (Verizon, Comcast, etc.). In that vote it was 8 MA Democrats Nay, Lynch and Neal Yea.

We are working everyday to inform the voters of the 9th District that they have a real, Democratic alternative in the September Primary. Having collected over 5,000 signatures, we’ve put Phil Dunkelbarger on the ballot. We are convinced that, once 9th District Democrats become aware that they have a real choice, in a successful businessman and former City Councilor who advocates a strong Democratic agenda, they will vote Dunkelbarger and restore Democratic representation to the 9th District.

Today, the Dunkelbarger for Congress Committee makes an urgent appeal to 9th District Democrats, to help us send a message to Democrats around the country, to stand firm and speak clearly for Democratic values and principles, and to help us replace Stephen Lynch with Phil Dunkelbarger, who will truly represent and serve the people of the 9th District.

2. The Mass Delegation should bd 100% real Dem; as should CA and NY
There is no excuse for having anything but Democrats in those delegations, 100%. Voting with
the * administraiton at this point in time (or any really) is no longer an option for any
Democrat.

I like this guy!

3. Steve Lynch, Republican? Get real. . .
Despite Mr. Dunklebarger's assertions to the contrary, Steve Lynch can in no way be characterized as a Republican.

Let's take a look at the facts:

Lynch had a more liberal voting record than 72% of his house colleagues in 2005.

His special interest group ratings? Let's see how he fared when judged by the following "right leaning" organziations:

ADA:90%
AFL-CIO:93%
AFSCME: 93%
LCV:94%
NARFE:100%
NEA:100%
NOW:86% (despite his pro-life stance)
SEIU:100%

This is another example of Democrats searching for "heretics" in the ranks. Steve Lynch has been a solidly progressive voice in Congress notwithstanding his votes on the war or his stance on abortion. Also, the 9th District (particularly South Boston) has always been strongly pro-military and culturally conservative. I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch is hearing a different sentiment in his neighborhoods than the other members of the delegation are in theirs.

4. There are some mistakes for which you fail the whole test-no extra credit.

5. IMHO, anyone who loves and supports this war
and recruits kids to fight it should go. Mr. Lynch also recently voted with his corporate masters to cede control of the internets to the telcom companies.

Read Dunlkelbarger's comments on his web site on priorities, fear, the economy, privacy, energy / environment, health care, and infrastructure.

As you may (or not be) aware, The Boston Globe does not publish all letters to the editor. Here's one from one of my VFP Brothers that will most likely never see the light of day:

Subject: The Lone Ranger Promoting War

Despite the fact you always refer to former Congressman O'Neil's observation that "All politics is local," you bankrupt your readers. Only one member of the New England delegation supported HR861 insuring the ongoing war crime in Iraq - Stephen Lynch.

Moreover, he has been a consistent supporter and master of misinformation beating the drums for war for poor children to enlist, despite quietly admitting the "reasons for the war were bogus," at Curry College,(which again the Globe did not report) but then leading the St. Patrick's Day patriotic bash for the peasants praising the war effort.

And recently he was only one of two Congressmen in the New England Delegation who voted to turn over the internet to corporations, at the expense ultimately of the poor. Where is the Globe with respect to the machinations of our purposely numbed and dumbed population - you do a good job of making it so.

If, Congressman Lynch is right that the reasons for the war were bogus - then plain and simple, he is a war criminal, which indictment would also attach to a compliant media. Who will tell the people? Txxxxxxxxx, VFP, South Boston, Ma.

Mr. Lynch has been confronted many times by the Veterans For Peace, and has always been found wanting. The only way to stop this war in Iraq and future wars against oil producing countries is to vote for people who will stop this insanity. Lynch never met a war he didn't like - after all, war is good for bidness. And bidness is good for Lynch.
