Kerry/Graham- that's the ticket...?
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 01:59 PM by Beaker
Edwards as AG, Clark to Sec of Defense, Dean goes back to Vermont and maybe writes a book about why he's right and everyone else is wrong, and leads the fight for a new round of bike paths.

1. Graham's from the south
and was against the Iraq war. Since Kerry cares about neither, would it work?

2. Are we talking about the same Graham
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 01:54 PM by jcgadfly
who didn't vote for the IWR because it didn't go far enough and kill enough people?

He wanted to add innocent Palestinian deaths to the innocent Iraqi deaths.

3. Graham... cracker

Graham has health problems. A bad heart. We wouldn't want someone with a bad ticker as vi.... uh, nevermind.

4. Graham's heart is fine
and florida really isn't a "southern" state. Tons of northern and midwestern transplants.

The problem with Graham is he's boring as hell.

9. We're loaded with transplants as well
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 02:03 PM by mmonk
but everyone will always call us a southern state (NC) though points north are closer than many points south. Go figure. Graham could help take the votes in Florida which is a big prize.

13. I hadn't even thought about Spitzer
Awesome choice though. Kerry for 8 years, Spitzer for 8 more? I'm all for it!

6. Knowing of Grahams political history...
He would never be Kerry's VP. Some politicians do have scruples & Graham happens to be one of them.

7. Graham is awesome, but
he would not be able to follow Kerry into the office. We need to plan and clear the path for winning at the very least, the next three elections. That will secure the Supreme Court and lower judiciary.

11. I'm still thinking Bill Richardson...
as a good match for any of the possible nominees. He's from the west, he's a huge draw for Hispanics, he has both congressional and cabinet service-I think whoever the nominee is would be stupid to not at least strongly consider him.

12. Edwards is the "Hillary proof" running mate. The cloud of her presidency
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 02:44 PM by oasis
would no longer hang over the heads of anxious Hillary-haters. The young veep would be the obvious choice for the top spot in 2012.
That alone, would be a good selling point for Edwards.

BTW, Hillary-lover here.

16. Forget graham
Look, I LIKE Graham, I'm a native Floridian. But forget Bob he will never carry Florida.

Why?

Bob lost a LOT of rural support in Florida that he had during the campaign. Thats always where his strength was, in rural Florida. The non beachy part thats more GA than FL.

If you MUST take a Floridian I'd say the other Florida senator would be better. Bill Nelson

Hes younger
Hes a former astronaut
His base is not in the rural parts of the state that pretty much is going to go for Bush anyways.

And in a shallow way, hes much more telegenic.

And hes just as tall as Kerry I think.

18. problem
if we take Nelson, we lose his senate seat. Watch Bush APPOINT Katherine Harris. We could also lose Graham's seat in the GE. So we can go from having 2 dem senators to 2 repub senators just like that.
