1. I will give to the Dem running against Bush
I do not want to sponsor Democrats bashing other Democrats in the most appalling Republican ways.

5. Umm, why not ask who is wealthy?
I don't get the point of your question.

I think many of us give what we can. Many have given more than they can afford. It might have been a few dollars, but it matters as much as the rich person giving the limit. We're better than this, I hope.

12. The point is this . . .
There has been much argument that DU does not represent the 'real world' or the 'average democrat'

Maybe that's true - but then . . .

How does a candidate who gets the majority of his campaign donations from those contributors who give $2000, or even $1000, represent the 'real world' or 'average democrat' ?

Why are CERTAIN candidates getting a MUCH larger % of $1000 and $2000 donations than other candidates ?

Quid pro quo ?

6. In a round about way, I guess
I have donated @$400 cash. Then, I paid for my daughter and I to travel to NH in December for 4 days. Plane tickets-@$500. Motel room-@$250.00. Food-I have no idea. Well, maybe not quite $2000. Right now, I am broke - pretty much. My husband and I have a small business that is VERY slow in the winter and we are having to conserve cash for when we get busy again. After that, I plan on giving some more.

7. Almost there...$1750
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 02:07 PM by Bozola
In small unmarked bills so my candidate can seem he's getting "little guy" donations instead of a massive lump sum which would certainly buy his total loyalty to me and my evil ways.

Actually, it's just because I give what I can, when I can. The winning democrat will get the same financial support, as well, whomever they may be.

9. I don't give until the primaries are over.
I want my money to bash Bush not Dems. And it won't be 2000. It will be what I can afford.

10. I haven't, but I will max out on the nominee.
I hope to give $4000 to the nominee. I will definitely max out on the primary. Then I will do my best for the GE.

11. Why do you want to know?
I don't like being asked what charities I give to or who I contribute to.
