How long will we not "cut and run?"
Until the death toll of our troops hits 10,000 or until republicans start chatting about the need for a draft to continue their war mongering and nation building? Knowing the sleaziness of the gop, their "leadership" has most likely told the rank and file not to mention the draft until at least after the 2006 election because no doubt that would piss of their chickenhawk base.

1. Never, apparently.
It seems to me, based on their rhetoric, we plan on staying in Iraq forever.

If bushco was not planning to stay, tell me why they are building billion dollar military bases??? I for one think the draft is a great idea, no waivers, no exceptions lottery picks must serve.

2. As Murtha used the phrase this morning, how long will we "stay and pay?"

3. I can't figure out why we can't get out of there right now
America hates Bush and hates this war. How is that we can't force a retreat given the hatred of Bush?

5. The Answer is Forever
Let's see: World War II ended in 1945, but the U.S. still has significant military bases in Japan and Okinawa (technically an independent kingdom Japan absorbed, but the US "returned" to Japan), Germany and the United Kingdom. The Korean War ended in 1955, and we have bases and troops in South Korea (where they continue to be a potential tripwire for war with the North and a source of conflict with citizens of the South). Heck, the Spanish-American war was in 1898, and we still have that nasty base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba! The only place where the US fought a significant war and is no longer present in force is, guess what, Vietnam!
