Southern Baptists elect moderate Hater as new President
The SBC has been meeting in Greensboro, NC this week to elect a new President. Three men were running for the office and the one considered the least conservative was elected.

He says that Southern Baptists for too long have been known for what they are against. They got a live on with him. bush sent a video tape which amongst other things he thanks the SBC for supporting our troops. How does one support our troops?

3. How does one support our troops?
The Bush/Fundy way, you send them to fight without the numbers or equipment that they need and put them on the road to perpetual war. At least that's the way they've been doing it so far.

4. That statement really baffles me
When a group of yahoos, sitting comfortably at home in CONUS states emphatically that they "support the troops" I wonder what exactly do they do to support the troops. Put it in my hand please. Show it to me. How much does it cost you? The only thing that statement does is make them feel good about themselves.

7. Hey, you forgot to buy the magnetic ribbon!
You know, the yellow magnetic ribbon that was made in China and says Support our Troops?
That REALLY helps!
:sarcasm:

5. You stay home and wave a flag - that's supporting the troops - and you
push to tear apart the Constitution's basic premise of treating all Americans equally. And anyone not supporting the troops that way is just a terraist enabelur

6. I Support Our Troops More Than You DO!
Sheesh! Why don't they do something REALLY radical, like come out in favor of Mom & Apple Pie?

10. Bill Clinton isn't a "Southern Baptist"
In the traditional sense that he attends a Southern Baptist Congregation every week and agrees with Southern Baptist Convension doctrine. I believe Clinton joined a Southern Baptist Congregation in Arkansas when he was very young, and that's the only thing that connects him to the SBC. I seem to remember Clinton attending a Methodist Church during his presidency, although I may be confusing him with Bush.

11. You are confusing him with Hillary. She attends a Methodist
church. Bill even sang in the choir (each service is on tv here) at the largest Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas. You seem to remember this and that but I have lived it.
