ATTN: Hillary Clinton
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 11:46 PM by blueinindiana
NO matter how far you try to move to the right.
NO matter how much you try to appease conservatives.
NO matter how much you wrap yourself in the flag.
NO matter how much you talk tough on terrorism
NO matter how much you straddle the fence on every issue.

NO matter what you do …

GOP and Conservatives will never vote for you.

EVER!

Don’t you get that?

GOP/Conservative voters would rather vote for Bin Laden then HIllary Clinton no matter how much GOP butt she tries to kiss.

I am tired of hearing about Politicians moving to the left, moving to the right, moving to the center. Sounds like a damn football game. Cripes, this is about the future of our country! Don't they have any core beliefs? Trying to be everything for everyone? Yuck! I want a leader who is true to his beliefs and doesn't shift with the wind.

4. Yes
I can't support anyone that's going to pander and change their views to suit the mood of the people. How can you really trust someone like that? W said he was a compassionate conservative, wasn't going to run budget deficits, didn't believe in nation-building. He just said all that because that is the kind of leader we wanted.

My favorite political quote, "Just because I said it, doesn't make it so."

5. Can't you just see
her carrying any southern state? I can't. Won't happen in a million years.

7. I wish she'd just give up on being the first Female President.
When she got into the Senate I was so excited because I thought she would fight for the causes she spoke of when she was first lady and through her younger years. I thought, finally she will be in a position to push through a comprehensive health care bill, finally she have the means to fight for equal rights, for increased minimum wage, for environmental protection, for peaceful solutions to world-wide conflicts. Damn, I was fooled!

I hate that I used to defend her for being a strong, liberal woman. I respected that she would speak her mind and thought she was such a wonderful role model for girls and young women everywhere. Now I don't think she is a role model for anyone, except for power hungry hypocrites who would sell out their professed ideals for a chance to be put in the history books.

Hillary, not only have you lost my respect, but you have lost any chance of having my vote as well.

8. Is she ever in the Senate?
I never see her in debate...what a backbencher! It's like one of those anonymous Republican Midwestern senators whose name you only hear at a roll call or quorom call!
One would think someone "poised to be President" would make her presence known.

11. She's not trying to win over conservatives, she's trying to get moderates
the swing voters who decide most elections. Of course she's not going to win Texas, but if she could carry all of the Kerry/Gore states and win either Florida or Arkansas, she could win. To win in those states, she needs at least some of those NASCAR dad votes-not all, not even a majority of them, but more like a third of them, combined with the majority of women and the minority vote she will pick up. If she can build the same coalition of voters her husband did, she could win. I don't know if she's a better candidate than Gore, but she is better than Kerry.

12. don't want to comment on your comparisons to Gore and Kerry... but...
your electoral/strategic analysis is spot on. The electorate doesn't see things in black or white, either or, us and them. Democrats simply cannot win without the middle.

13. They can't win without liberals either
Rethugs don't go out of their way to alienate their base. Why should we?

14. Um - she ain't flipping Arkansas, or Tennessee or Virginia
or New Mexico or Arizona or any of those purplish-red states. Not a one will she flip. Hell, she'll probably lose us Michigan and Pennsylvania, as well.

The woman - and that's the BIGGEST reason she'll get her ass kicked - will not flip a single red state in 2008. Not a one.

It's sad this country is still so full of misogynists, but it is. And liberals don't like her well enough to vote for her in the Dem primaries in the first place.
