SC Republicans worry Bush may lose South carolina
As their Democratic counterparts go to the polls today, South Carolina Republicans are increasingly wary about President Bush’s re-election prospects in 2004.

Some fear he could lose.

Just a month ago, they talked confidently of re-electing Bush for another four years.

All that changed after John Kerry, a four-term U.S. senator from Massachusetts, replaced former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean as the Democratic front-runner.

Dean was seen as more liberal and therefore the weakest candidate the Democrats could put up against him.

1. If Bush loses S.C.
he'll get creamed. When was the last time a Dem won that state? Carter? Clinton didn't.

2. Actually, they just seem worried he'll lose nationally, not in SC
Of course, that is all that really matters.

6. sounds like spin to me
oooh Bush going to lose... we're so scared... although there have been a lot of polls in the last few days indicating that Bush would lose to a variety of Dems. Who will he be unable to defeat next, Barney?
