Murtha bashing scheduled for tomorrow
as Paul Hackett subs for Jerry Springer. Since Hackett is a lawyer for one of the Marines who may involved in one of the incidents in Iraq maybe he should temper his language. I'm a Vet. I side with Congressman Murtha on this issue. Murtha supports our troops and wants those responsible for wrongdoing held accountable. Hackett supports his client. The Marine Corps is not a democracy.

1. While that's going on, I will be blissfully listening to Stephanie Miller.
Who replaced Springer on 940 AM South Florida as of June 5. Ahhhh, sweet, sweet Mama. How I love thee.

2. I thought his client wasn't involved in the incident or in the cover up
He's pissed at Murtha for making a statement that vaguely implicated his client.

Has Murtha responded to Hackett's attempts to contact him? I hope so. Then this Murtha bashing should stop. Frankly, I'm sick of Hackett's hatchet jobbing of Murtha.

3. Hackett said that
Murtha was addicted to a microphone. Me thinks the Marine protests too much because he sure enjoys blathering on and on and cutting off callers when he subs for someone. Murtha is a man of honor. Hackett is an unproven comodity.

4. Oh my god!
Hackett has a lot to learn about communication. He needs some polish and a big dose of heart.

5. Every time I read about this shit, Hackett goes down another notch
Clown to former Marine: Hey ... stupid ..... I you want to call yourself a Democrat - which you did when you thought you could win a House and then a Senate seat - you should say your piece as you see it and just Shut.The.Fuck.Up. We get that you're defending your guy. Murtha is neither an accuser nor a witness.

6. Hackett sued the VA on behalf of Vets' stolen personal info.
From the "Cincinnati Enquirer:"

Former congressional candidate Paul Hackett sued the U.S. government Tuesday on behalf of the 26.5 million veterans whose personal information was stolen this month.

snip

The federal lawsuit asks a court to order Veterans Affairs to pay damages of about $1,000 per veteran and to cover the cost of credit monitoring services.

Keep in mind that he's the PLAINTIFF, not the attorney filing the suit.

I'm no lawyer, but I do believe that in a class action suit an attorney cannot be a class representative and cannot collect attorney fees awarded to the class. Paul Hackett is representing this class.

He's suing on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America and four other veterans groups for compensation of $1,000 and federally-funded credit monitoring.

The attorney who is representing Hackett and the vets is Chris Jenkins of Mezibov & Jenkins, a Cincinnati law firm.

Here's the entire class-action complaint which was filed in district court:

Should be an interesting show.

7. I think I'm busy
Going to the dentist would be more enjoyable than listening to his radio show.

8. You Mean Coulter Lied
God's bitch Ann Coulter seems to have broke the commandment, thou shalt not lie, once again.

I thought she said no one was allowed to be critical of those like Murtha because he was in a war.

Poor little whore.

Thank you Rahm. Think you made the right call on Hackett.

9. Paul Hackett is too gung ho for me
What is this vendetta he has against Murtha? I'll put my money on Murtha any day; he's a sincere man, a supporter of the troops from the word go....and a true patriot. :patriot:

10. No different than his vendetta against Sherrod Brown
It appears the only Democrat Hackett likes is himself. If he still is one. I'm sure that's what we'll be treated to next - his dramatic exit from the Democratic party.:eyes:

12. Yes, I think you're right about Hackett
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 03:28 PM by MODemocrat
I've been questioning his loyalty to the party for a while now; especially for the way he's gone after John Murtha. It might be justified if Murtha hadn't been in the military, and didn't know what he was talking about; but I've seen him amongst the troops and they seem to respect and admire him. Maybe Hackett is more lawyer than he is a representative of his party.
I still think he is very bright and could have a great future in politics if he would just back off from the rheoteric.

13. No, he's done
You can't trust the guy. He has no staying power and can't see how transparent he is. I think he has a personality disorder.

14. You're probably right about his lack of staying power
What a shame; the democratic party needs some new faces; and it seemed at first he was just what we needed.;(

11. Hackette has become a real disapoinment. He seems to just want
to take on and discredit the Democrats. He should be a lesson in how important it is to be careful about who we support. Didn't KOS back him?
