9. Florida is a weird state, and most people I met there

over last winter were completely disconnected from politics. They really don't think about it, much, and when the subjects of Stupid or his brother come up, the reaction is "They're OK, I guess."

They're too busy trying to survive from day to day while convincing themselves they're in Paradise.

Of course, that might have changed by now. Gas was a lot cheaper last winter.
