Something not adding up about the Zarqawi pics & the story
First thing. The "he's dead" pics show him lying on the ground, a head and shoulders shot. Right?

Now the story is coming out, "he was still alive when they pulled him from the rubble. He was put on a stretcher by the Iraqi police. The soldiers came over, he mumbled something, then died."

When the pictures are showing him "dead", they have his head on the ground.

But he was still alive when they put him on the stretcher, so that picture cannot be him "dead".

If he was dead in the picture, what did they do, have him on the stretcher, say, "Whoops, he's dead, let's put him on the ground and take his picture"????

1. Maybe they thought he was dead, put him on the stretcher, and then
realised he was not.

There must have been much chaos and confusion.

4. They thought he was dead, he thought he was dead, they wanted him dead,

he wanted to be dead before capture, I think everyone got
their wish. What's not to like? Even the Iraqi's are celebrating
by shooting guns all over. Why quibble on how how he died?

5. What's not to like? Lies.

Persoanly, I'm sick of them.

When it comes to Bush/media I cant fault anyone for being skeptical.

If there is one lie concerning his death, then perhaps there are other lies invloved. Why are you encouraging people to be so un-curious?

I'm sure there is a lie in here somewhere- after all, it is Bush/media we are talking about.

Can you name ONE single issue that Bush/media has NOT lied about?

If you cant, then why is this an exception all of a sudden?

9. My point simply is Zarqawi is dead, it does not matter much if Bush/Media

have lied about the details. And yes, Bush can not be trusted to always
tell the truth.

3. No offense, but...
... help me sort out your facts from your assumptions first. Which picture are you talking about where he's "on the ground?" How can you tell from a picture if he's dead or merely has his eyes closed?

7. The one where he's cleaned up . . . looks like cement/dirt to the left
(our left) of his head, and some sort of rocks to our right.

Ya think that he would be happily posing for these pictures amidst his enemies and closing his eyes? The pics purport that he's dead.

The pictures were not reported as "while unconscious" and "before he was put on a stretcher" . . .

And then, while on the stretcher pic, he has blood on his face. He bled after his heart stopped? Or did they clean him up only to hold his head up against a wall on the ground?

The stories aren't adding up.

8. No suprise-Bush media is lying to us again, that is clear....
...that is usually a given.

I guess the real question is why? Is this a trap for the skeptics or a genuine screw-up?

Ya never know anymore with these guys.

10. Well... again, no offense, but...
... maybe the "story" that isn't "adding up" because your assumptions about the photos are simply wrong?

13. Story keeps changing . . .
so why would the "trophy" (the gold-framed one in the first picture, wasn't that the one used at the initial press conference?) picture have less blood on it than the pic of him on the stretcher, "after he's dead", where he was picked up and put on the stretcher? The "trophy" pic seems to be a hastily photographed one . . . not as crisp and clean . . . maybe a vidcap . . .

And then, the story says, "Whoops, he wasn't dead, he turned his head and muttered something, then died."

Then the story went, "Whoops, he didn't turn his head, muttered something, then died, he muttered something tried to get off the stretcher, then died."

What's it going to be next, "Whoops, he got up grabbed a gun from an orderly and died in a firefight?"
Thought he died from the 2 500-lb bombs . . .

6. someone tell me how
there was a body....w/o....gashes, bruises, cuts...whatever...AFTER they dropped 2-500 POUND bombs on his house....???? It pulverized the house, yet left him/his body/facial structure...WHOLE???? LOL....amazing...so what was this I heard last night about them having to use fingerprints to identify him???? fingerprints???? that is what a military spokesman said..... none of this makes sense...and I don't suspicious of the whole story...amazing how this supposedly happens when *'s polls are tanking, they didn't like the election returns....and more and more r's are being investigated...
Not only that...but these organizations...have more than one guy trained to do a job...most likely, someone has already slipped into his position....and IF he finally died...that will breed how many more terrorists??? (Hey, besides that, I thought we killed him more than once already???)

14. If they got Zarqawi's fingerprints, think what they have on you?
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 11:54 AM by kentuck
:)

I did not know the FBI was set up in Iraq with their Fingerprint Division but I guess perhaps Saddam had a more advanced intelligence than we knew? Or perhaps Inspector Clouseau got his prints off a glass when they were sharing dinner??

11. The story
is a bitch to keep up with actually. I've been running all over the place. The Iraqis killed him, no, they didn't. He was dead, okay he wasn't dead, but then he got dead quick. Here's a bloody photo. Here's a cleaned up guy after an "autopsy" of sorts, in a gold frame suitable for hanging. There's a power struggle inside al-Qaeda. No, there isn't. His own guys turned him in. There's a cel phone trace that did him in. What's next.

:tinfoilhat: on: That's a guy who's more than recently dead.

12. is the Zarqawi story credible? my pitch - nobody knows nothin ...
i've listened to DU's conspiracy theorists being chastised by DU's self-appointed "grown ups" ... we get things like "some of you are really getting carried away with this" ... somehow, they seem to know what really happened ...

but how does anyone know anything??

surely, one would be incredibly naive to believe anything coming out of the bush administration ... Zarqawi might have been killed months ago and this was saved for maximum propaganda impact ... or perhaps there never was a Zarqawi in Iraq ... or perhaps there have been dozens of Zarqawis ... or perhaps a million other scenarios are possible ...

one thing's for sure - nothing bush says, about anything, has any credibility ... so, to DU's grown ups, my response is "not so fast" ... maybe you shouldn't "come on very sage" ...

the phrase comes from this scene in "All the President's Men":

Ben Bradlee: Look, McGovern's dropped to nothing, Nixon's guaranteed the renomination, the Post is stuck with a story no one else wants, it'll sink the goddamn paper. Everyone says, "Get off it, Ben", and I come on very sage and I say, uh, "Well, you'll see, you wait till this bottoms out." But the truth is, I can't figure out WHAT we've got.
