bush and the gay hating amendment - how incredibly sad
bush could not possibly care less about the amendment to prevent gays from getting married. He has been advised to get onboard because if the base is not fired up with hate in their hearts and don't go to the polls the dems may take the house and/or the senate which will result in investigations, which will result in bush being exposed for the lying criminal he is. Could there possibly be a more pathetic motivator for political action? I think not.

1. I agree, BOSSHOG
It's about as pathetic as it gets.

He has no interest in getting this passed. He just wants to make people hate. That's not just pathetic...it's ugly.

2. what's even sadder is that this ridiculous nonsense
actually will help to get his base to the polls. It's a sad state of affairs when bigotry is considered to be a family value.

4. It's all smoke and mirrors...
...with this administration. Distract the masses from what we really need to work on which is the ending of the war.

5. I tire of these calls for amendments to the Constitution
to prohibit things like gay marriage and flag burning. Do they know even if it were to pass the house and Senate, get signed by the prez, it still has to be ratified by two thirds of the states? The ERA didn't make it in the seventies, what makes them think this will work this time?

Listen up, congressional dipwads (you know who you are) the Constitution is a set of instructions on how to run the government. It establishes the powers that government may exercise over it citizens. The Bill of Rights and subsequent amendments limit those powers as those powers might be inappropriately or excessively applied to the citizens. Got that? Now here is the important part: THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNTIED STATES IS NOT AN INSTRUMENT TO LIMIT OR REGULATE THE BEHAVIOR OF INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS!!!

Lawmakers, if your constituents don't want flags burnt or fags married, then make a law. If you really feel compelled to add something to the Constitution, a Right to Privacy amendment would be nice.

It's a wedge issue and a distraction; we should just ignore it for the hot air it is.

6. Family values. What a joke. What is a family today?
A man, a woman, two kids, and a station wagon in the garage it ain't.

Bush and his Evangelical base aren't promoting family values at all. They're preaching hatred, bigotry, discrimination, and hypocrisy.

Father to Son: "Jimmy, do you see those two men over there?"

Son: "Yes, Daddy."

Father: "They're what people call gay. And that's wrong. The Bible says so, and so does Pastor Dobson."

Son: "What's so wrong about it?"

Father: "It's a destructive lifestyle, Jimmy. They're not a family. A family is a man and a woman and their children. God created mankind to reproduce, bring new life into the world, and protect and nurture that life."

Son: "Then why do we kill innocent people in Iraq?"

Father: "That's different, Jimmy. We're fighting terrorism when we do that."

Son: "Then why did Mommy go to the doctor last month to get rid of the baby she was going to have?"

Father: "Well, Jimmy, that's because your Mommy and me aren't going to be living together any longer. We're getting a divorce. It has nothing to do with you, we both love you very much, but we aren't happy with each other any more. A baby would have just complicated things. You understand, don't you?"

Son: "I'm not sure. So we're not going to be a family anymore?"

Father: "Of course we'll still be a family, Jimmy! We just won't be living under the same roof. We'll still be a family, though. Does that make sense?"

Son: "I'm not sure. So it's OK as long as we're doing it, but it's not OK for anyone else to do it?"

Father: "You just have to take my word for it, Jimmy. You have to trust me to tell you the right thing. And listen to good men like Pastor Dobson, who preach the word of God."

Son: "But Pastor Dobson doesn't think those two men should be able to get married."

Father: "That's right, Jimmy. And that's because they're gay. They aren't a family."

Son: "But Daddy, they have a kid named Joey. He's in my class at school, and they all still live together. Doesn't that make them more of a family than us?"

Father: "Jimmy, you just have to trust me on this one. It's wrong. Now I've got to go pick up Priscilla, so you just scoot inside and I'll see you in a couple of weeks. And remember, I'll always love you and we're still a family, even if I do live with Priscilla now. And I have good news for you, in a few months, after Mommy and me are divorced, there's going to be a big wedding when I marry Priscilla. And you're going to have a new brother or sister a few months after that! Won't that be great?"

Just another day in the hypocrisy that is America's Evangelical Christian following... :eyes:

7. And the son read the bible
and learned that adulterers should be stoned to death and soeth he took up stone and killed father and Priscilla. And son was then harassed by focus on the family because he cut off a source of income for the "christian" organization. Totally pathetic humans.

8. What is their preoccupation
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 11:24 AM by DearAbby
with other people's sex lives? They bend over backwards, making amendments to have only one woman and one man in marriage.

Marriage is a religious ceremony. Isn't there a separation of church and state? If a Gay church, or a more open minded congergation, performs a ceremony, does that mean it wont be accepted?

Then government, is deciding which religion they will recognize, which is unconstitutional.

I just caught the tail end of a local radio program discussing this topic. The caller had railed on about, Where will it stop?
Polygamy? Bestiality? Last I heard both these were illegal. Being gay is not.

I wanted to kick my radio...jesus these people are full of hate.

What is their preoccupation with the sexual lives of other people, that they would go so far as to legislate laws to prohibit. It is like they are jealous that other people might be getting some and ENJOYING IT!! :::gasp:::

They spend way to much time in other people's bedrooms and
lives, which to me is quite perverted.

LETS CALL IT WHAT IT IS - THEY ARE THE PERVERTS!

9. Same Cover Story as 2004 to Cover Up Another Stolen Election.
Stir up the bigots, show them on TV over and over again.
(These morans all look the same, after all).

This will once again be their cover story for why the Repubs
"win" again when they are so far down in the polls.

They can just use their stories from Nov '04 and change the dates.
