America, I don't even know who you are anymore...
I open my Internets this morning and I see a headline:

Guard to begin bolstering border patrols!!! meanwhile,

Washington is getting ready for a three day gay marriage debate about who is supposed to be able to fuck whom...?

When can I have my country back?

1. I cannot count the times I've posted these words...
Where is my country?

3. I get the feeling we are going to have plenty of explaining to
do to the next generation...I know for a fact we are not leaving a better stronger country for them.

2. Yup
The way the "family values" crew rolls out racism veiled as "immigration reform" and homophobia veiled as the "defense of marriage"
is only based on and encouraging collective fear and hatred.

It's sickening and saddening.

I achingly miss the illusion that we were far better than this as well.

Yet perhaps the absence of that illusion will create a void and give rise for something even better to manifest over time.

5. Only few people would weep or even think about all of this...
Most people I know look at me like I am an alien when I try to bring stuff like this up?

I would guess 99.99% of Americans don't watch the nightly news...

6. it's that ignorance that has empowered the current cabal
People have gotten so caught up in the 'US is always on the side of good' propaganda that they simply can't fathom how badly the Bush cabal has damaged this country's reputation, to say the least.

We are now the new Mongol Horde, the new Barbarians. To see our greatest enemy we need look no further than the bathroom mirror. This country will ruin itself with these foolish wars of abstraction (drugs and terror).

:-(
