How much $$ would you accept for a GI bullet in your sons head
It sounds sick to offer the Iraqi (Hadith) victims families murdered by GI's money instead of justice.

I'd never accept any cash for murder... Would you?? The murderers must be brought to justice, starting with fu*k head at the top!!!

Haditha Lawyer Criticizes U.S. Payments

By HAMZA HENDAWI

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- A lawyer who had several relatives among 24 Iraqis allegedly slain by U.S. Marines last fall and is representing kin of other victims complained in a videotape Saturday that American compensation paid to the families was inadequate.

Khaled Salem Rsayef also said U.S. officers accused him and other relatives of lying when they recounted the shootings in their first meeting with the military after the Nov. 19 deaths in the western town of Haditha. He did not say when they met.

In interviews taped Friday by an AP Television News cameraman, 9-year-old survivor Iman Walid Abdul-Hameed demanded that those responsible be executed.

<<snip>>

"When I received the compensation money, I found out that it was $2,500 for each victim," Rsayef said. "I told them that it's a small sum that does not match the magnitude of the disaster."

$2,500 for each murdered victim is surely intended as an insult.

I'm against capital punishment but this 9 year old understands justice better than who ever offered $2,500.....!

1. God Damnit! My son just came home and told me he's on the list for
Afghanistan. They gave him a choice. Sign up to the list for 6 mo. in Afghanistan, or risk getting called up for 1 year in Iraq.

Guess which one he picked? If he goes, he will be leaving the month before his baby is born.

He sooooo does not want to go. He knows we aren't over there for the right reasons, and he's afraid of ending up caught in a situation (like Haditha) that will cost him a part of his soul.

3. He has! damn kid tells me everything
even the things I'd rather not know!

Unfortunately, a positive drug test won't stop the process now (we did discuss that option). I think it's time for some research.

7. I feel your pain
:(

He should stand up and refuse to go and save his soul .... that's the right choice, but the consequences can be unbearable in the short term.

4. The life of a one year-old baby, for instance, is priceless
No amount of money will bring back that baby or everyone else who was murdered in cold blood.

5. $2500? Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME???
I mean, not that ANY amount of money would truly compensate you for such an inexcusable, excruciating loss... but they offered $2500 for each victim?!? This war makes me SICKER and SICKER every fucking day... because, as indicated above, it's CLEARLY intended as an insult. Excuse me while I vomit.
