RE Ohio: DU Women & DU Men. Do yourselves a favor and
buy a copy of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s piece in the current ROLLING STONE, entitled:

"Was the 2004 Election Stolen?
Republicans prevented more than 350,000 voters in Ohio from casting ballots or having their votes counted -- enough to have put John Kerry in the White House."

Numerous DU threads on this have already been posted, and RFK himself is popping up all over on mainstream media.

The accompanying art is potent. The graphics are very persuasive. The timing is exciting. And the text is interesting and provocative.

I second DUer blm's motion from yesterday that as many of us as possible purchase a copy of this issue as a gesture of support for articles of its kind. Sheer volume of sales talks.

W A R N I N G:

Your opinion of Republicans is not likely to improve after reading this article.
_ _ _ _

This article is a keeper. One to read through carefully now to gain currency on likely felony election fraud in Ohio and other states, but one also to keep on an up-high place on a revered shelf for a later decade. Reading it this afternoon, I felt Fate jiggling the historical card deck.

Strongly recommended.

3. Maybe get out there before it's sold out, MADem, on the idea that
if publishers see the coins clanging in their coffers over this article, and the sales spike is clearly a result of RFK's piece, it's good for progressive articles getting published more often.

I'm stealing that idea from DUer blm, and I think it's exactly the right strategy.

I LOVE this article.

6. Well, clicks on their website work too, and save trees
...to say nothing of the cost of gas to get to the store, unless it's right down the street and you can walk.

There's ads all over the RS site...so they're making money no matter how you access the info.

2. Just think what we are going to have to deal with in
Nov. and the next election, and the next one and on and on and on. Our democracy is gone. Our voting rights are gone. It's repukeliKKKan rule from now on. Unless we change it. Time to take it to the streets. If 500,000 mexicans can take it to the streets and get media coverage from beginning to end, then by God we can too. We might have to make a whole lot more noise, but our future is at stake. I can't stomach the thought of repukeliKKKans telling us what to do for the rest of our lives. It's UNACCEPTABLE.

4. Hi, buff2. Nice to see you again. I love the idea of a collective
critical mass rising against the tide of media laziness and feebleness.

For me, here's an opportunity. I didn't even know RFK Jr. was researching this. In that way I felt very pleasantly ambushed, but I see the electricity it's generating, and it's very exciting.

I'm sure I'd feel much different if I were a Bush voter, but then again, if I were a Bush voter, I'd blow my brains out!

8. Hi there Old C!
I feel like blowing my brains out everytime I see or hear that moron! LOL If we don't do something about the stealing of elections, then we are not going to have a voice in ANYTHING. Where in the hell are all the NAACP members,Louis Farrahkan and his Million Man March,Naral,NOW, Rainbow Push......and all the other large groups? Is everyone going to keep sitting back and letting the repukes keep taking over? WHERE IN THE HELL ARE OUR VOICES????

Whew! Sorry.....I wasn't yelling at you,Old C. I can't help screaming,I am soooooo frustrated. :banghead:

10. The RFK piece will give you a little clarity and hope, I believe. It did
that for me.

You come away from it with the idea that your vote (even if you aren't in Ohio!) was a vote for the right thing to do, and not just two individuals.

The evidence against BushCo remains circumstantial, but it is POWERFULLY circumstantial.

Not sure what will come of it because it only hit the stands today, I think, but the piece has the feel of a history-changing essay.

ROLLING STONE is popular because of its cultural pieces, but this is a political cat on the prowl in this issue, and its claws are sharp.

The right-wing outlets are already in a tizzy over it. That's a good sign.

15. You're right - this may be our LAST CHANCE to alert public on the machines
and the fraud - the corp media is already at work attacking the idea to deflect the certain blame they know they share for their complicity.

18. Yes. I think the RFK Jr. piece is exactly that -- a chance to
put into the public perception the idea that Bush cheated.

By Bush I mean those in his employ or doing his work: Blackwell, the newspapers, -- all of it.

It may also become the article that prompts meaningful election reform on a mass scale.

(blm, you prompted me to go out and buy the article instead of just read it on-line. I'm thinking you did me and many others a huge favor in that. Thank you.)

5. I'd be happy if Kennedy got a fair interview with the media whores.
It'd be nice if someone actually gave him some thoughtful time, asked thoughtful questions, not this out for blood b.s. I've seen so far.
But I intend on buying a copy as soon as I can find one around here, which isn't easy.
Worst case scenario, I'll be in NY in two weeks and will secure one one way or the other!

7. Alright, babylonsister! And yes -- it would be terrific to read an RFK
interview with some of those media outlets.

Oh yeah that sounds excellent to me. I bet they're terrified of him even approaching them at this point. He's a pretty thorough guy.

Do you have some connections in big cities anywhere who could secure you a copy of that issue before it sells out?

I think it's going to disappear fast.

9. I can't for the life of me fathom why CNN gave such short shrift
to Kennedy. Why isn't EVERYONE concerned about stolen elections, at least to the point of engaging in an intelligent conversation about it?
As for big cities, I live on the outskirts of Houston but could not find the RS copy of "Worst President in History"; I honestly believe it was censored here, at least locally in my neck of the woods. I did finally find it at the local military PX of all places, and also ordered one off of ebay. A kind DUer turned me on to the idea of buying a subscription off of ebay-who knew! If they keep coming out with these great articles, I'm there! And finally, Dad lives in NY during the summer, so he could get me one as a last resort. I'm good!

12. Ok, sounds like you got things lined up. That's an interesting
point on the number of really good political articles RS is running lately.

I think they're sharpening their claws, so to speak, and taking no prisoners.

They've just printed a piece on racks nationwide at this hour assailing the president of the country for stealing an election.

We say stuff like that every 20 minutes on DU! But here is this piece in RS and if it isn't censored, as you are suspicious of there in Houston, a lot of people are going to read it.

Which is great.

I would love it if there was enough pressure to get some of those GOP election officials to sing!

RFK's article on Ken Blackwell's muzak system, too. It'd be a fine thing for him to come in to work to on Monday morning.

Should be a nice start to the week to help frame his felony election fraud charges coming (I hope) real soon.

24. Brief excerpts from the article iinvolving Ohio's Noe...
...but not Tom Noe this time, but his wife, Bernadette Noe.

Kennedy's article points out that GOP operatives, including Tom Noe and Kenneth Blackwell, manipulated the courts to block people from voting. A damning charge, but evidently true.

From the article:
_ _ _ _ _

... enjoyed the backing of Attorney General John Ashcroft, who filed an amicus brief in support of Blackwell's position -- marking the first time in American history that the Justice Department had gone to court to block the right of voters to vote. The Sixth Circuit, stacked with four judges appointed by George W. Bush, sided with Blackwell.
_ _ _ _ _

And this, about the Toledo Area, where Tom Noe's wife Bernadette, is the Chair of the county board of elections and the county Republican Party:

_ _ _ _ _

On Election Day, Noe sent a team of Republican volunteers to the county warehouse where blank ballots were kept out in the opehn, "with no security measures in place." The state's assistant director of elections, who just happened to be observing the ballot distribution, demanded they leave. The GOP operatives refused and ultimately had to be turned away by police.
_ _ _ _ _

RFK, Jr.'s article is a winner. And it will fire you up.
