Ohio progressive bloggers sneer at RFK, Jr article
Dems within Ohio have come to accept that we have a significant number of so-called progressive bloggers who seem to do little more than spend their time bashing Ohio Dems, DailyKos, DU, Eschaton and other progressive blogs. Go figure. Its not too difficult to understand since most of the ringleaders are failed consultants whose spotty track records cause them to get passed over by most Dem campaigns.

So it came as no surprise when I checked in with them after the RFK, Jr. article ran in Rolling Stone yesterday. As usual, most are either ignoring the biggest election scandal in Ohio history or sneering about "tinfoil hat" theories. In their world, any well run campaign can overcome election tampering.

It's pretty dispiriting when the folks who should be advancing this issue in Ohio are working so hard to undermine it. Apparently they think its more important that the Ohio Dem party didn't give them free tickets to the annual dinner.

Perhaps they need a little DU activism. Any suggestions?

In the post about the RFK article here, most of the responders are other Ohio bloggers, with a few folks trying to make them pay attention.

1. The power of denial....
A lot of people still can't come to grips with the idea that the election was stolen.

2. It truly is denial
I can't quite understand how some folks can simply brush the issue aside when there's such an abundance of evidence. We really have our work cut out for us.

3. Yea marmar, it's like admitting Democracy is corrupt.
They can't bear to admit the truth because it makes their chances of ever winning again exactly zero. Not to mention they look like idiots for not fighting against it.

9. Yup. I agree...
We do not live in a democracy - perhaps we never really did - but the USA under Bush is far removed from the definition of "democracy." This is closer to despotism.

4. wow, people are amazing when they're being petty...

sometimes they don't even realize when they're being petty.

If you want to make it your mission to pester progressives in Ohio, I'm going to say I'm not interested in that sort of thing.
Last I checked, it was still ok to express an opinion. (though that may change soon)

I didn't read the whole thread, but the posts I saw seemed as much to be saying that at this point in time, there are bigger fish to fry. You can disagree with that assessment of the situation, but to slam them for it and to encourage us to go over there and "DU" them seems pointless.

8. Sorry Lerk
I didn't mean everyone should go "DU" them. I'm asking for feedback.

While we all respect others opinions, our rust belt progressive bloggers seem to have a chronic problem, not just on this issue. While they're entitled to their opinion, its really difficult to call them "liberal" or "progressive" these days. Perhaps they're suffering from too little input from other opinions.

5. Hey there, OzarkDem. I am yet to read the RFK, Jr. article, but
his reputation as a thinker precedes him, and at the very least he is owed the courtesy of attention, if not outright respect.

He has been the activist, true-hearted, clear-headed champion of the environment, for example, and a model of citizenship like his should be respected and emulated, not taunted and dismissed.

Shame on those people. I feel like whuppin' their fannies.

6. "exit polls were so bad in 00 that they shut down the system "
Now there's some world-class, Grade-A, deluxe-GOP-style denial happening there.

7. We Seem to Forget
Democrats and Progressives are not necessarily the same. It would be nice, but it just ain't so. There are many Dems out there who are just Republican lites. It is time we turned things around with a Progressive/Liberal party. The right wingnuts of the Republican party made quite an impact on their party--why can't we? And if we can't, it is time for a new party.

12. Saying Diebold stole votes.. with so much else in the way of voter
suppression going on.. and which was talked about in the article.. is not a done deal. It is speculation.

13. Forget them. Support me.
OK, so that was very self-serving, but it's a Friday, and I'm ready to go home. But seriously, folks, I'm an actual progressive blogger living in Ohio, where I was born and raised. Why spend your time reading the naysayers? Spend it reading my blog. I love DU, I post at Daily Kos and I read Eschaton every day. Plus, I have yet to be a "failed consultant". Be good activists there, but when you're done, come by my site and join the good fight.

17. Not sure why they refuse to accept it
I'd like to thing they're so naive and so accustomed to bashing Dem campaigns in Ohio that they haven't had time to read up on election fraud in Ohio. It is a complex topic and requires a bit of reading and research to clearly understand the issue.

Here's hoping the Ohio lefty blogs get interested enough to do some homework on the issue.
