Have you all seen this girl, Nikki Mendicino?
I wanted to punch the shit out of her (well, my TV screen) yesterday. I was watching the Rolling Thunder thing on CSPAN yesterday, and she was talking about how she cares about veterans and this is not a partisan thing. Then, she opens her big ol' 18 year old (can't be much older) mouth and shouts out about how Jane Fonda hasn't fully apologized for what she did in Vietnam.

I remember visiting her website not too long ago, out of curiosity, and she was fawning all over Rick Santorum. Freeper in training. Bipartisan my ass.

2. The Jane Fonda thing is just part of the liturgy
For the standard Freeper "two minutes of hate." It's a cue -- you gotta drop that in to get them salivating.

10. So, get this: One of the Rolling Thunder head honchos
said they'd endorsed * in 2000 and 2004, and said he now had a message for Bush that he was ashamed of him for turning his back on them. Said he was there for them to take a meeting in 2004, but he doesn't have time for them now. Hey, bud, have buyer's remorse? You got what you paid for. What did you expect?

9. The Freepers like her:
Springdale teen to receive award at inaugural ball (Freeper Nikki Mendicino)

<snip>

"Springdale High School junior who speaks out on behalf of veterans is to receive an award today at a presidential inaugural ball. Nikki Mendicino, 16, will receive the Falcon of the Year award from Free Republic, which operates a Web site for "grass roots conservatism." The award goes to a high school student.

Mendicino became interested in helping veterans about six years ago after World War II veteran John Kridlo visited her school. She began visiting him and started a Web page dedicated to veterans.

Since then, she has given hundreds of speeches throughout the country and has been involved in several causes, including a campaign to find out what happened to Gulf War pilot and Navy Capt. Scott Speicher with the hope of bringing him home alive. He was shot down over Iraq in January 1991, and in October 2002, the government changed his status from missing in action to missing captured. He still has not been located.

Mendicino will attend an inaugural ball at the Washington Plaza Hotel. The Washington Chapter of Free Republic is paying for the trip.

"I was never even expecting it," she said. "They called me a week ago to say I won the award."

Amazing. A veteran's advocate posing with and praising an AWOL cokehead son of privilege and a non-serving hard-right bible-thumper who hates the rights veterans fight for. No irony there.

I'm putting it in my PDA as a to-do item for May 30, 2008, and I'll ask about her status then. :eyes:

16. Typical Freeper Moran:

"I must be special! He even sent me a picture!
Do you think he really signed it personally?"

Yeah Nikki...Idiot Boy really signed it himself. :eyes:

Probably accompanied by his own personal signing statement:
"Karl, do I really need to answer all these *&%$ing idiots who write me?"
