Dean won us the election
no, he won't the nomination now, but he served as Rove's cannon fodder. When it was almost certain he'd be the nominee, he's who the Rove smear machine unloaded on. And he sat chuckling about how he could win. I bet during Iowa Rove probably could fill a bucket with his sweat. All the pre-nomination smearing was lost. Rove and Co. were back to square one, and now they have no clue what to do.

I don't like the way he's acting now, but we owe it to Dean. He deserves a spot in the Cabinet.

1. Dean got a lot of new people interested in this election
he's got a lot of young people into the Democratic party too and he had the cajones to speak out against the flagrant bullshit going on in this country. I wish more Democrats were like Dean.

P.S. I hate his recent negativity towards Kerry and Edwards. It would have been better to keep a positive message.

2. If not for him...

I don't think the war would be as much of an issue as it has been. He has done nothing but good things for the party and for fundraising.

Everyone has had to adopt his positions and pay attention to things they wouldn't have otherwise.

I am ABB but I think a lot of people here are going to be very disappointed by a Kerry presidency.

3. Trippie became an msrnc whore tonight and has turned on
Dean. He was likely a repug mole sent to destroy Dean's movement. With bastards like him and Sharpton having a Repug mole I'm beginning to think that there are no real democrats left in this monster. If Dean is done it was treason which killed freedom and democracy today I have to really consider whether I will continue to support this sham of a country.

8. LOL, Joe Trippi was a broke middle-aged Diabetic.... a true hero
Who almost killed himself working for Dean. He gave his heart and soul to that campaign. I praise him for all that he did, to make Governor from Vermont....VERMONT!!!!!.... a front-runner for President.

The man did his best.

21. I didn't interpret Trippi's appearance on MSNBC tonight that way at all.
Trippi said Kerry probably prefers Clark winning OK and Edwards winning SC to Edwards winning both.

Big deal.

I don't object to Democrats being interviewed by Chris Matthews.

Then I want him independent of any administration. The Dean machine shouldn't be harnessed to keep D.C. secure.

16. I dumped Dean after the "scream" but...
I never stopped liking him - I just knew after I started hearing the mix tapes that it was over for him - NO WAY he could have beaten Bush.

Still his candidacy has been invaluable, because he's gotten out the message that none of the other candidates could say (but probably believe) about Bush and his fraudulent war. Props to Kucinich too, but it was Dean that got the message to the most people. Now it's about beating this thug. Kerry DOES seem the most presidential, and would be highly competent as a leader. That alone would be a VAST improvement over the present situation. If he presents himself in the right way (being real - no more phony Harley stunts) he might even carry a few southern states.

17. Dean made it "OK" to call out Bush*
While Gephart was appearing next to Bush* during the Iraq vote, Dean was standing up.

Spine.

20. Not just Gephart...
That's why many of us turned to Dean in the first place-because he said what we thought while the rest of them were silent and supported the war. If Dean doesn't win, it just shows the influence of the media-even among democrats who know its controlled by the right.

19.  I agree
dean made all of this possible.

4 years ago I thought that Gore should have offered Nader the Attorney General position in order to lock up the election...whether Nader would have taken it is unlikely.

I doubt Dean would take a cabinet position even if I hope he would. I think Dean is a great man with an awesome vision. He changed this election.

For this former Dean supporter, I am looking to Kerry (hopefully Edwards as VP) to change this country because I think it is time to end the bickering and take the White House.

As long as Dean remains vocal, this election--and this country, will have to be honest.
