A Better Way To Pander? Dem Ticket Feingold-Buffett
Yes, that's Russ Feingold and Warren Buffett. If Buffett isn't interested, then ask another ultra-wealthy businessperson. Voters who won't support the Democratic team can be asked: "Why do you hate businesspeople?"

2. Buffett would never run.
First, he's getting pretty old, and second, he intends to run Berkshire until death do they part.

Bill Gates is a Democrat, but I think his negative poll ratings would be a little too high. :)

3. Okay, the idea needs fine-tuning. How about Steve Jobs? e.o.m.

5. Ronald Reagan was old when he was President.
Maybe Warren Buffett would be willing to take a break from business to be Vice President.

6. Yeah, and look how well that turned out.
Reagan is an example of why we shouldn't have old people as president, not why we should! :)

Warren isn't going anywhere. He's been pretty adamant about that. People have been trying to get him to run for public office here (Nebraska) for a long, long time. He's not biting, unfortunately.

4. buffet is fiscally responsible and anti-deficit so he is toxic to the rw;
He is also as a general matter competent, which would be a jarring change from the status quo.

7. A bit of info about Warren Buffett
Buffett, Warren E

Admits Berkshire's $30 billion cash hoard is underutilized: "It's a painful condition to be in, but not as painful as doing something stupid (...)"

Outspoken opponent of Bush tax cuts, recently courted as adviser to pols Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Kerry. Critic of lax corporate governance, became target of failed campaign to vote him off Coca-Cola board. Fanatical supporters still far outnumber critics: Berkshire's folksy annual meeting crowds routinely top 15,000.

9. Okay, the idea needs fine-tuning. Can you suggest a famous, wealthy
businessperson who could be #2?
