Pennsylvania shaping up for the Democrats!
In the primaries yesterday, the Democratic turnout was exceptionally larger than the Republican turnout. Furthermore, Santorum got a considerable number less votes than other Republican candidates, indicating that Republican primary voters specifically did not push down his lever.

http://electionpredictions.blogspot.com has predictions for the formulas, and I am happy to say that the site owner just started posting numerical calculations for the races too!

4. He's antichoice
I'd have to vote Green. I cannot vote for a woman hater who wants to throw us back to the dark ages of risking our lives on illegal abortions.

That's where the line is.

13. Two woman haters
Neither is worth a vote.

To hell with them and to hell with anyone who thinks my rights are somehow less important.

27. And to hell with those
That are so narrow minded that don't realize a Democratically controlled senate with a couple anti-choice members is worse than a republican controlled senate.

31. Casey will simply be another Democrat
Edited on Fri May-19-06 02:22 PM by Tiggeroshii
He won't be prominent in the Senate, barely being able to make any decisions his entire first term. The only benefit he'll receive from being elected is contributing to a potential majority giving Democrats like Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy power. He will in NO WAY be able to extinguish a woman's right to choose and thus he will only be working for the Democrats. As a vote for any Republican is very mucha vote for president Bush, a vote for Casey is very much a vote for Reid and Kennedy.

Please. Do it for Teddy! ;)

32. oh please, give it a rest
how can you even say that, you don't even have proof to back up your ridiculous attempt at a valid argument. Casey, while against abortion, has gone on the record saying that while he is personally against abortion he will not support overturning Roe v. Wade.

33. That is a flat out gold carat lie
Santorum favors no abortions whatsoever. No matter what Casey's position is, and I think he favors the big three exceptions in can't possibly be more anti choice.

9. all or nothing attitude sets us up for defeat
i don't understand that argument. Casey said he would not support overturning Roe v. Wade. He is so much better than Santorum. Vote Casey, and then replace him with a more liberal dem. i hate this all or nothing attidude

11. The bigger issue is taking back the Senate. We need Casey
in the democrats' column. I can hold my nose and vote for Casey if it means getting rid of the greater evil, Santorum.

12. Screw that
and screw anyone who thinks the rights of half the population are worth less than the rights of the other half.

That is where the line is. Deal with it.

One antichoice woman hater is exactly the same as another. They are not to be trusted. Ever.

16. Okay but think about the possibility of President Santorum...
And the full force of the justice department being used to prosecute women who have abortions and the doctors who perform them. And then think of how that posssibility will be destroyed if Santorum loses re-election. I'm not going to criticize you if you don't vote for Casey, but I'm just throwing that out there.

24. Letting a republican like Santorum win is against my morals
Either Casey or Santorum is going to be senator of PA. Voting for anyone else is a missed opportunity to get rid of Santorum. Doing something like that would weigh to much on my conscience, but I don't live in PA. I have seen what republicans have done to this country for the last 6 years, and I can't sit by and let it continue to happen. That is where the line is.

10. yes
he was unopposed, but people who voted in the rep. primary for governor and house races etc. did not vote for santorum. he received close to 18,000 less primary votes than the republican candidate for governor who was also uncontested.

3. PAer here
Yes, Casey is better.

And yes, Santorum was unopposed. Just pointing out that the Repugs wouldn't even bother to 'touch screen' his name, while casting votes for other offices. = good news

In January 2007, Senator Bob Casey will take office in D.C. for Pennsylvania and the pencil-nosed Santorum will be history.... toast.... a GONER.

You'll see.

30. Good Day for Dems in PA
It was a good day for Dems. 13 incumbent Republican legislators were defeated, including the 2 most powerful Republicans in PA. Only about 3 or 4 incumbent Dem legislators were defeated. One Repub leader outspent his opponent 20:1 and still lost to a guy who owns a tire store. It showed that the Republican electorate is very angry at their party's leadership.

Fighting Dem Patrick Murphy won the nomination for the US House District north of Philadelphia by a wide margin against a fake dem.

We now have a Dem opponent against incumbent Charlie Dent in the 15th US House District because 3,200 DEMOCRATS WROTE-IN the name of an opponent. Dent had thought he would be unopposed.
