I really hope we pick up a significant number of seats in both houses in the fall.

4. that's great news. we just got a fancy new firehouse and saturday
Edited on Thu May-18-06 07:37 PM by catmother
they're having an open house so we can meet the firefighters and tour the facility which is equipped with 12 bedrooms. kyl is supposed to be there. i'm tempted to go and tell him "pederson is going to kick your ass". how in the hell out of 100 senators did kyl get voted one of the 10 best?

5. Supporting that:
http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2006/060420100USSenatorState.htm

Survey USA has him tied for being the 88th most popular Senator with a net positive approval rating of 3%

("AZ Kyl, Jon R Jr 45% 42% 3% Track AZ Jr")

This poll is almost one month old, is due for an update any day now, and the trend has shown Kyl's popularity falling. 3% is the lowest his net approval rating has ever been, and if the rate of fall continues he will soon be in negative territory, perhaps within days.

6. I Called It!
9 months ago, I wrote right here on DU that Kyl's seat was vulnerable and a few people responded, in effect, that I'm crazy.

7. I hope the trend continues
What is funny is that recently he ran ads here about how Pederson is a liberal, a big spending LIBERAL out to raise our taxes. It was after these ads that he lost ground in the polls. In the past, ads like these would have made a difference, but me thinks, just maybe, the electorate here is getting a little wiser. I sure hope to hell so! It would be great to finally feel proud to have at least one decent senator, because for as long as I can remember all we've had are butt-heads.

Hope we can keep it up!

Not like it will be tooo much work. But it'll be nice to count this in as one of the competitive seats again.
