Though he surely didn't intend it, President Bush offered some real one-liners during Monday's speech. To wit:

1. "We're a nation of laws, and we must enforce our laws."

JH: Ha ha! Keep 'em coming, Mr. President. You mean every law except FISA, right?

2. "It is important for Americans to know that we have enough Guard forces to win the war on terror, to respond to natural disasters, and to help secure our border."

JH: So what you're saying is that you just want the Guard to replace you as president, right? Can they help lower gas prices, too?

3. "Third, we need to hold employers to account for the workers they hire."

JH: And by accountability, I mean by mentioning them in this here speech.

4. "We cannot build a unified country by inciting people to anger, or playing on anyone's fears, or exploiting the issue of immigration for political gain."

JH: No, you're right, but who ever accused the Republicans of trying to build a unified country?
