Again, callers to CSPAN prove that our flock gathers under a very wide, indiscriminant umbrella.

A moment of levity on a very stressful night. :evilgrin:

But maybe the caller is right and he is just one of the real anti-Christ's evil minions.

2. I heard the same call...

... he started by saying that he was a "believer in biblical prophecy," so I expected the obvious and the worst....

... and then his rant suddenly turns against George Bush as the "anti-Christ." I almost spit out my tea.

Poor George. Even a segment of the fundies are turning against him (for probably the wrong reasons, but what the hell; as long as they help send him back to Crawford, I'll take their vote while they dutifully thump on their bibles).

3. I really think this is the prevailing thought amonst fundamentalists.

Face it...a big chunk of southern voters DO believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. I'm not sure how often these folks vote, but I live around some of them. They're scary, because they believe that Bush is a false prophet, and the Rapture of the Church is at hand.

A lot of folks down here also believe Bush is a big spender, and maybe not the anti-christ. You can get through to a lot of these types of people down here by talking about Jesus throwing the "moneychangers" out of the Temple. It seems to resonate well.

Whatever it takes......
