KERRY for President! Not happy with that? Focus local!
The voters of several states have spoken - John Kerry for President.

He's got a 7 point margin over George W. Bush. Every exit poll says he's John Kerry is the most likely to beat Bush, and the most electable among the Democratic candidates. He's the only guy right now that can beat Georgw W. Bush outside the margin of error.

Don't give up the fight for your guy, don't stop the attacks on my guy (Unless they're unsubstantial garbage...) - it all makes us as a party stronger and more ready to take on the evil Rovebots.

If you don't like Kerry and don't feel like whole-heartedly supporting him - don't tear him down too much, but do put all your positive political energy into a local race. George W. Bush isn't the only enemy. The House, Senate and Governor offices are littered with useless, shameless, profiteering, immoral conservative assholes. LET'S GO GET 'EM!!!!!!

3. That is absolutely one of the best things we can all do.
We all have to find out who our local guys are and send them a small chunk of confidence from our wallet. It's not just ABB, it's ABC (which they can't recite..) - ANYBODY BUT CONSERVATIVES

41. No matter what
we must all get behind the candidate challenging DeLay...once that person is chosen we here at DU must really get moving. Yes we must work locally but the best thing we could do for our country, after getting rid of shrub is to send DeLay back to his exterminators office.

40. I'm undecided.
I like Obama and Hynes both, and can't make up my mind (yet) about which one to support. Either would make an excellent senator, and both are highly articulate and just plain look good. What to do, what to do...?

just an ad for our guy. He's still got a lot of fight left.

The other guys should stay in, and stay focused on beating George Bush. The more credible voices going against Bush, the better for the party.

10. That was diplomatic of you.
I'm not a Kerry guy as of right now (Clark supporter), but if he's the nominee, he'll be my favorite candidate in the history of the world. To me, there's nothing in the world more important than beating Bush. Every single leftist will need to vote for one person for that to happen.

13. Wisconsin 6th Needs a Dem Candidate
As far as I know, Tom Petri (R) is still unopposed this fall. He ran unopposed in 2002 as well.

Now especially with all of the manufacturing jobs (a LARGE constituency in this part of Wisconsin) going overseas and south of the border, I can't believe the Dems wouldn't get something going here.

14. Right on.
I just can't seem to make myself get excited about Kerry, but if he gets the nomination I will have to come to terms with the fact that he's the guy. But I will be more likely to get out there for a local candidate that I'm excited for ... which is something we should all do. Plus, turning out Democrats for any race helps getting rid of Bush!

18. Doesn't he have to beat bush to become president?
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 10:03 PM by Egnever
Honestly I don't think bush has a hope of being re-elected unless Kerry is the nominee or of course sharpton. Baring those two any of our remaining candidates could easily beat him.

Even rush Limbaugh is bagging on bush at this point. He has succeeded in pissing everyone off not just Dem's.

I am sick of the Dem's performance the last three years buckling time after time on everything except a handful of judges. The majority of them no longer come anywhere near close to representing me and Kerry is the poster child for Washington career politicians collecting our tax dollars raising their wages and screwing the rest of us time after time.

I sat and had to listen to this puke talk about how he fought against the prescription drug benefit. Knowing full well the reality is he showed up for the cloture vote, voted against cloture then left town. KNOWING that Daschle had a plan to go around cloture and take the bill on by using a point of order. This was planned and KERRY didn't know jack about it or didn't give a flying fuck and went on his merry way anyway after casting a vote contrary to the Dem's plan and then leaving.

To hear this pile of political garbage stand on stage and say he fought against it is a slap in my face and a bold faced lie!

No if this horse faced lying bore becomes president because the DLC decided he was the one that would leave them in power they can kiss my ass goodbye forever.

33. better yet, Algorem...
Educate me as to why Kerry represents a threat to this country on the level of Bush.
Educate me who would better serve our country.
Educate me who has the likelihood of being elected President in 2004.
Educate me.

If you are going to really focus nationally or locally--you had better be able to educate a single, solitary voter asking you why your alternative is better choice...yes?
