Holy smokes! The wheels are coming off now!!!!!!
Foggo raided by the FBI, Rove indictment on it's way, Goss pushed out with Hayden looking bad...illegal NSA trolling....

...you know, I hated this SOB Bush the millisecond I laid eyes on him...but I would have never predicted the incredible incompetence and criminality would be so extensive.

Unless I'm really missing something here...looking at this objectively, I just don't see how this guy survives politically...I'm serious! Bush is going to have to go very soon, there is no way he can function ( even criminally ) in this environment.

It's over...it may get a bit more ugly, but it's over.

1. I know what you're talking about- it's unreal.
At first I thought they were very clever liars. A few years ago I realized they weren't clever at all. Now I realize they aren't even liars, per se, but sociopaths for which lying doesn't even really register like it would in a normal person.

Chilling.

That's going to be painful to watch, and incredibly embarrassing for my country.

21. Hell yes; I'll start getting the popcorn ready
This guy deserves a prolonged comeuppance and embarrassment. This country needs to have its collective nose rubbed in it for letting it happen. These are the times that show what people are made of, and that's important for all to see.

For the country to be embarrassed and for others to be emboldened to challenge our strutting, cocksure domineering is a GOOD thing, and we need to buck up and face reality.

Don't impeach the vindictive little nothing, take the house and put him under oath about the deceitful pre-war intelligence, Enron, the Energy Task Force, Funeralgate, election tampering, torture, outing of an undercover officer, graft and monarchic tax thievery.

We need this. We need a prolonged embarrassment and a period where we show the world that we have a conscience and are able to face our problems and correct them.

This is precisely what we need.

incredibly embarrassing for our country.

About that last part, the ONLY thing that's incredibly embarrassing for our country is the length of time many of us (DUers and other progressives not counted here) in this nation have been asleep, or seemingly powerless, or unable to rid ourselves of this blight on two legs. The embarrassing part about this is how long we've ALLOWED him to run amok, and so completely unrestrained. The embarrassment is in the way some people continue to cling to him even in the face of ALL the evidence of what a world-class shit he is. The embarrassment is how the rest of the WORLD can see the truth and keeps shaking its collective heads in complete dismay as to why so many of us seem okay with it. THAT'S the embarrassment. The embarrassment is in how we've done NOTHING effective to stop it because there has, up til now, been so much set up to protect and insulate him and keep him from being held accountable.

And it's NOT gonna be painful to watch as he's slowly but surely taken down. Peg by peg. Notch by notch. (Slowly I turn...) It's gonna be a resurrection. A GREAT national redemption and rebirth into the Light - OUT of the darkness of this tyranny. It'll be painful, but all birth is. But birth, even with pain, is still a joyful thing.

I say let the games begin. It's LONG overdue. Let's go through the labor pains and push this - AND him, especially - OUT.

Fear not, my friend. This one's gonna hurt SO good! Just write it off as growing pains. It may hurt a little, but it's much better in the end.

13. We are faced with the bizarre senario.....
of having a completely dysfunctional Executive Branch of government, with no one being willing to take it out and shoot it. What's amazing is that Bushco has made having a completely dysfunctional Executive Branch look like a GOOD thing.

I agree that Bush will go one way or another, before his term is up. What I can't believe is the incredible stupidity of the GOP for not taking him out. The longer he stays, the more damage he does to the party and the whole Neocon fantasy of taking over this country. Which is a good thing.

19. Good point......
Bushco is not functioning as an executive branch, but they are still assisting the rich in looting the country.

Gee, that puts a whole new light on why the GOP doesn't take W out: As far as their wealthy puppet-masters are concerned, things are going just fine. :(

before it gets better. It's unbelievable, isn't it?

Did you ever think you would live through something like this? I mean, to watch this kind of stuff, in your own country, your own government.

If it was Pakistan or Borneo, that would be one thing. But here?

I hope I live to be ninety. That way I can spend the next forty-five years wagging a finger at my conservative family and friends, saying, "I fucking TOLD YOU this was going to happen."

It doesn't repair the damage done, but I'll feel better.

(on edit -- Yes, the pre-Civil War era was crucial, as well, but this era is crucial in a different way ...)

29. And remember, the bold move that was supposed to save Chimpy
was having Tony Snow as his new press flack...except that Tony fucked up his first press conference royally.

Meanwhile, hard to see how his immigration speech is going to help in anyway. To placate his base, he has to call for rounding up Mexicans and deporting them, which will alienate everyone else....but everyone else already thinks he's full of crap on every issue.

What I find hilarious is that when he was flying high, the GOP kept promoting this tongue-thick imbecile as "the next Churchill"...and now as they sink they have nothing to offer the country except empty rhetoric delivered by a lifelong drunk who has trouble reading a teleprompter.
