There is proof of two cases of Republican involvment in our primaries
One is the Club for Growth ad and the second is the Republican staffer for Sharpton. Both cut against Dean. In addition, there is some evidence that push polling and robo calling is also being done against Dean and the Republicans are great suspects.

So why was Dean targetted by Republicans? Shouldn't we wonder before it is too late?

1. What about the anti-Dean "push-polling" in Iowa and NH? (n/t)

you mean the alledged push polling
that so far has not been shown to be that. He did poll people about potential negative attacks on other candidates all of which were true (Gep supporting war) and Kerry one that I forgot. There is no evidence of the charges not being true or of there being more than a normal sample having been called. Both of those are shown to have happened to Dean.

10. Rove fears the mighty forearms of Dean
Seriously, though, I hope he wins washington on Saturday. We need him to speak at the convention.

2. we can't ask those questions we must do as the DNC/DLC/RNC
say and blindly support the 48 state loser candidate they have chosen for us. Sorry but it needed to be said.

3. LOL. Whatever makes you sleep at night.
he blew it with his wizz bang strategy to say, "I'm skipping these 7 states."

The Republicans wanted Kerry to do bad. Dean was already a forgone conclusion to do bad tonight.

4. He was targeted because he was the front-runner
It's not that complicated. And Sharpton's attacks did nothing to Dean.

5. Oh really
His attacks were front page news in the Cleveland Ohio paper the day after they happened and started Dean's slide. I can't imagine they didn't get similar play in other places.

6. BTW I did a search (google) on Dean VT cabinet
and got 8210 replies.

The first page is almost all on Sharpton's attack,

Care to tell me again how much this didn't matter.

8. Bingo! Sucker punches work
Dean needs to stop thinking like a doctor and start thinking like a lawyer when he's attacked. Correct response should have been, "You know, Al, you're right. There could be something amiss. Let me check into that and I'll not only post it on my web site what the situation is and how it happened, I'll give you a personal call and we'll discuss it. There's no room for bigotry in any state, big or small, white majority or otherwise."

I think that would have deflated Al on the spot.

7. Interfering in Primaries has been done by both parties
in all kinds of races. Remember that Grey Davis spent a ton of money in the Riordan- Bill Simon primary race back in 2002. This is not new.

9. I never claimed it was
but given that it seemed to have targetted Dean we should wonder why that is. I think that is a valid point.
