1. I got news for you
Poor people have been eating dogfood in this country for years.

When I worked as a social worker in Chicago in the early 70s, people bought cans at the market, cans without labels that were maybe a dime, and ate whatever they found inside. Cat food, dog food.

America's got a great tradition of ignoring its poor, and not much, alas, has changed in my lifetime.

4. Tuna was/is the favorite

...because it was the closest to the tuna packaged for people.

6. Tuna packaged for people is cheaper than the tuna for cats.
You can buy Chicken of the Sea or other brands for 59 cents or 2 for a dollar most of the time.

...however at the store I worked at while I was in college, tuna cat food was much cheaper that Chicken of the Sea.

8. I just bought 9 Lives cans on sale for $.18 each.
That's a lot cheaper than tuna (don't start a collection, I bought them for my son's cat).

2. There definitely isn't a booming economy...
It's all smoke and mirrors. And once they can't manipulate the numbers to give the appearance of a good economy, the ugly reality (that 90 percent of us already are hip to) will sink in. In a few words, things are real f..ked up.

5. Instead of Arthur Anderson cooking the books for Enron
Its the Right Wing butt boys cooking the books with known phony numbers and playing the shell game for the wealthy.

The economy stinks.

9. The well off in this country have always had a high tolerance
for peacefully coexisting with those in utter poverty.
