Bad news, GOP: Immigrant voter registration drive coming
Scapegoat a group long enough and this is what happens. From the Washington Post:
The same coalition of labor leaders, Latino activists, Catholic priests and radio deejays responsible for massive pro-immigrant demonstrations in Los Angeles described a new coordinated campaign on Tuesday that they hope will register 1 million new voters before the November elections.

Under the umbrella of the newly formed We Are America Alliance, organizers will make similar announcements in New York, Chicago and other cities, including a news conference in Washington on Wednesday. In Los Angeles, they gave details for the first time of a strategy voiced repeatedly during marches: "Ahora marchamos, mañana votamos" - Today we march, tomorrow we vote.

1. 60% of Latinos can't vote?? Is that accurate?
Many of those who participated in the street protests cannot vote. About 60 percent of all Latinos in the United States are ineligible to vote because they are not citizens or because they are too young, according to the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute at the University of Southern California.

Okay this could be a matter of a lot of Latinos being under 18 and they lumped the illegals in to get to a high %. Or maybe not, I don't know.

2. At any rate, this is still bad for the GOP, because the percentages
indicate there are a large number who are legal, and can register to vote. I'm pretty sure the GOP won't be able to count on many votes from these newly-registered citizens.

3. No, not at all
Because I had Rush on the other day, flipping through stations, and he referred to any guest worker program the president proposed as a "guest voter program" for the left. So they know the power that an immigrant voting drive would have, belive it.

5. The old standard is true
The more people who vote the better the Democrats do.

As you surely know every single endeavor to make it easier to vote has been vehemently opposed by the Republicans.

4. I wouldn't doubt it
If they are illegal immigrants they can't vote.
If they are legal immigrants (legal residents) they can't vote.

They must be a citizen to vote!

I know of at least one Hispanic at work that isn't a citizen but he is legally here at work. He has been here in the US for at least 20 years if not more than 30.

7. More like 25%
Last I heard, more than 75% of hispanics in this country were born here.
