Jackson Browne anit-war video - MUST SEE
He wrote this song 10 yrs ago and it's now animated. EXCELLENT!

Here is his website

and

here is the VIDEO

Here are some of the song lyrics:

They sell us the president the same way
They sell us our clothes and our cars
They sell us every thing from youth to religion
The same time they sell us our wars
I want to know who the men in the shadows are
I want to hear somebody asking them why
They can be counted on to tell us who our enemies are
But theyíre never the ones to fight or to die
And there are lives in the balance
There are people under fire
There are children at the cannons
And there is blood on the wire

4. I am not worthy.... but:
I middle-named my son after JB.

An underrated national treasure... politically and artistically.

Jackson Browne aloof. He's always been very politically motivated. Great artist with great
lyrics.

It makes me cry every time I listen to it, but the video broke my heart.

9. Great Song, but more than ten years old
Was written during the Ray-Gun nightmare years. The worst people "in the shadows" from then, are in full power now.

10. New video for an old classic--Timeless
It's sad and revealing how a song that was written back in the 1980's to protest Reagan's policies in El Salvador would be still so true today.

Thank you Jackson Browne

14. "Lives in the Balance"...one of my favorite of all time.
Timeless, you might say.

But you left out the beginning:

"I've been waiting for something to happen,
for a day, or a week or a year...
with the blood of the ink in the headlines,
and the sound of the crowd in my ears....

...you know when you've seen it before."

The entire lyrics are sheer Browne genius at its best.

15. Wow, powerful, powerful stuff.
Absolutely brilliant.

I :loveya: Jackson, and have for more than 30 years. Seeing that video makes me want to drag out all my old albums. I have only the first five - may need to check out some of the others.
Looks like I definitely need to get his new acoustic album, with lots of his greatest hit.

He was gorgeous as a young 'un :loveya: , and it looks like he's aging pretty well.

Written during Iran-Contra, but even more fitting today I think. The video tears me up.

18. Didn't Clear Channel ban songs like 'Lives on the Balance' in 2001?
I recall Clear Channel had a very long list of songs and musicians that were not allowed to be aired or included on their playlists.

Dixie Chicks were highlighted in the MSM, but they never actually articulated the fact that their music was actually "banned" from the air.. the MSM conveyed the lie that there was a "backlash" among the patriotic citizenry... and equally egregious I never heard the MSM report the fact that Clear Channel had such a "black list" .. it would have been a real eye opener had they reported the fact that John Lennon's "Imagine" was on that list as well as a long list of others that included some very very innocuous titles.

Had the MSM done so, MOST Americans might have "awaken" to what the hell was going on long before 2004.

But the Dems didn't do a thing to bring this to the attention of the public either. And they are still silent.

People we are in a 2000,2002,2004 election year deja vu - and too few here seem to realzie it.

I'm more pessimistic with every passing day, I see and hear my party "leaders" on tv "news" programs uttering mealy mouthed, inane slogans or meaningless talking points.

Are we going to have to suffer and wait until AFTER another disasterous November elections before people en masse finally wake up?

21. Second that! - Do check out the "Readings". Links to more than 40 pieces
2 Will Pitt, the "chickenhawk" list of who served and who didn't, the letter from the poet who refused to attend the WH breakfast with Laura, the fantastic E.L. Doctorow piece from a year or two ago. Also many I'm not familiar with, including a piece about election fraud titled "The Silence of the Scams : Psychological Resistance to Facing Election Fraud". I'll have to spend a few hours with that list when I ever get the time.

Go Jackson! He's been fighting the good fight for decades.

I was a huge fan then, but this video and song far exceeds anything
he has done in the past.

Wow!

k/r and sending it around to those on my email list.
