Jerry Brown placed 2nd there in '92 & DK's been much more organized than Brown was. Trust me on that, I volunteered.

expected him to be GONE by now. His just hanging in there is a tribute to both his tenacity and the generosity of his supporters.

I don't expect much out of South Carolina, but it will be a while before the polls close in New Mexico, so we'll just have to wait and see.

They are not showing them on screen and I really don't think DK has campaigned in SC except perhaps when he was there for the debate.

DK has spent a lot of time in Arizona and New Mexico and I hope to see him do better there.

25. Keep up the Good Work!
It is so important that no one drops out of this primary season, until the Convention. The more candidates which remain in, the more the debates will be covered, the more the media will cover each primary election in each state and it is working. We are getting our message across to most Americans! The Republican Primary in NH, 15% of them did NOT vote for Bush. The majority of them wrote in one of our Democratic candidates names. This is the good news! Support all of your opponents supporters to vote their choice and keep this process going until the Convention! For the good of America!

The media is calling for candidates to drop out. It is expensive for them to cover all of this. But, this is free advertising for our party! If it is only one person, we won't be getting this coverage and Bush will get more of it.

Remember that every delegate which we get, means we have some input into the party platform and the choice for Vice President.

Tell all of your friends and your opponents to keep everyone in!

28. Kudos for Dennis.
Please keep the faith and do not harken to any of these voices that suggest that Congressman Kucinich should drop out of the race and debates.

He and Sharpton are the only two voices left arguing for universal, not-for-profit healthcare, the same that every civilized nation on earth has, except us.

The attempt to stifle the anti-war voice, the anti-Patiot act voice is wrong. Kucinich was right then and he's right now.

Any effort to end the participation of Dennis Kucinich in the debates will push me over the edge. Instead of going to Boston to celebrate the Democrats, I would go to protest...
As long as we bank roll Dennis and he has a voice, I demand that voice be heard.

43. Just got back from my polling place.(NM)
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 10:18 PM by revcarol
visited 3 polling places today. After I dropped off some posters: UNION YES, CHECK:DK and 500 + MUERTOS, NO MAS: DK, I toodled over to the big city where campaigning except for carrying a sign was prohibited. Couldn't even put up yard signs or posters or have tables or anything. The big one, no one from any campaign was campaigning on site except me, for 2 hours. For DK, of course.

Then I went to my assigned site, way out in the middle of an old Spanish town, where everything had to be 100 yards from the school. I struggled to put up signs and posters in the high winds, finally got some of them up, then it began to rain with howling winds. I still kept contacting voters, because I had my on undies and my waterproof jacket on, but it soon began to SNOW with howling winds. Stuck it out another hour, the wheelchair-bound lady I was supposed to take to vote didn't want to go out in the weather, so I went back to the original site to vote.

THE TURNOUT AT THIS SITE WAS TREMENDOUS.Over 700 of 1200 had voted when I checked an hour before the polls closed, with lines going out the door. And my best guess is that 85-90% voted for Kucinich. they are all good union, actually ex-union people who have lost their union jobs, have used up their unemployment, and can't retrain for anything that will give them a job unless they move hundreds of miles. The steelworkers turned out for DK, AFSCME turned out for DK, the Electrical Workers turned out for DK,people who had lost their jobs turned out for DK. I visited over 300 homes, emphasizing, union membership, good jobs, rural support and health care that you don't lose when you lose your job.AND THEY GOT THE MESSAGE AND CAME OUT AND HUGGED US AND SAID WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT WAS TO VOTE FOR SUCH A GREAT MAN.

Clark had a small table, she gave up after about 2 hours. We had a HUGE display, with informational posters and Prayer, and AFL/CIO brochures, and audio/videos and gave away 50 bumper stickers. And all this was run by a disabled lady and a retired teacher, who had also done house-to-house!!WOO HOO!!

And that was my day. Tomorrow is a hot bath, plenty of green tea, and R & R.

I would be very surprised if DK doesn't get some delegates.

Edit: the AFSCME lady that Kucinich people have been supporting in her contract negotiations with the state gave me her union pin. It says: GOD BLESS UNION PEOPLE, then the picture of a very stern American eagle, the AMERICA NEEDS 'EM. What a day.

So, anyone who wants to update me, please do.

 what a day for you, but good about preparing for the change in location!!

I checked my two counties here in AZ where my friends & I worked on DK's campaign and we polled 4% in each...so maybe we actually did make a difference.

I wore a DK bumpersticker on my jacket today to teh polling place( what can I say...I was curious as to what would happen) No one there mentioned it until a woman came up to me (another voter) and said-you really shouldn't wear that in here- you know they ( the polling officials) are all republicans! I'm thinking,hello- its strictly a dem vote! I took it off anyway....but I left my DK button on!!

Then later as I took my son to vote on the way home from work- there was a woman handing out dem party fliers who was wearing her Dean t-shirt....sigh...go figure.

I was proud to cast a vote for Dennis today. ALso saw the AZ Green Party co-chair there casting HIS vote for Dennis (of course tomorrwo he will reregister as a Green, but who cares. He changed just to vote for Dennis!!!)

:loveya: LWolf...hang in!!

59. Dennis is climbing...and for no mention of his name...not too bad!
All nite it ticked me off no end- that crappy CNN scrawl...hard to read & figure out...anyone else feel it was deliberately misleading??

and my crappy cable channel doesn't carry the Late late Show w/Kilborn..hope I can catch it somewhere sometime...I wanted to see Dennis!!!!
Did catch him on Larry King Live...he was great- saying how at some point they would have to talk about issues. I am so glad he is in this...would the candidates ever talk about anything important without Dennis...or just more of the same schmooze....GO DENNIS! you totally rock!!!!

Peace
DR

62. So glad the election didn't last until midnight.
Heavy snow warning.Winds up to 45 mph. a blizzard.

Am sure we had RECORD turnouts in spite of the front coming in.

And you can't expect the media to discuss other things besides sweaters, imaginary screams, and botox. I wish EVERYONE had computers because that is the only thing that keeps us informed about KUCINICH and others.

DK's moving up, and people don't want to look at the math of the convention and admit he has a chance. Let's all take a pledge to get one more CONTRIBUTOR for DK each week, even if it just a few bucks. He has squeezed bucks so hard they "shit bricks," as the old=timers used to say. He needs a few more bucks to squeeze.
