CBS says Clark is out if he doesn't win Oklahoma
Wes Clark has focused on Oklahoma and expects a win. CBS says that Wes Clark Jr. is quoted as saying if his dad doesn't win in Oklahoma - he will leave the race for the nomination. It has turned into a three-way donnybrook apparently in Oklahoma.

1. Misquoting as usual
I read the full article with Wes Jr.'s comments and he did not say that his father was dropping out if he finishes below 1st in OK.

2. Link?
Was it on TV? I don't think Clark should or would drop out, even if he didn't win in Oklahoma.

I understand Wes Jr. frustration and share it, but he should never have spoken any words of retreat at this stage.

4. Not a misquote
He said, Wes Clark, Jr. has told CBS that if his father does not win Oklahoma that he will drop out of the race. Don't shoot the messenger! I didn't know it would be controversial. Sorry.

7. I heard the exact same thing you did.
Except I think I was watching ABC News with Peter Jennings. He said Wes Clark, Jr. (General Clark's son) was quoted as saying that his father would probably "bow out" of the race if he doesn't win Oklahoma.

13. Well, it's not a stretch to think Jennings misquoted
Wes, Jr. but I heard Jennings say that Wes, Jr. said that his father would probably bow out if he didn't win OK.

Jennings didn't say from what article or interview he was quoting, or misquoting, Wes Jr.

9. IT WAS A MISQUOTE
What Clark Jr said was that if his dad didnt win OK, that he WISHED his dad would drop out. He(jr) has become disgusted with the way the other candidates and especially the media have treated his father. The whole article was a slam on the media by Wes jr.

General Clark deserves respect. He is widely perceived in Europe and around the world as a leader and statesman.

His effective action in Bosnia and later in Kosovo brought respect to his country in Europe as well as in parts of the Islamic world.

He received numerous honors, medals and commendations for his service including honorary Knighthoods from the British and Dutch governments, commander of the French Legion of Honor. In August 2000, President Clinton awarded General Clark with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.

I did not take bullets for my country. I did not have to bear the burden of leading a war.

I can only honor a leader that better men than I have chosen to honor.

6. I was staying...
.... at a place near the Tx/Ok border this weekend. Local TV is all I had - and the campaign ads were running fast and furious.

I liked Clark's ads the best. I hope he wins in OK.

12. ironic isnt it...
the son is exasperated by the media treatment of the father...
complains about media distortion...
and then gets misquoted in an effort to further distort.
