WndyCty's on the ground report from AZ
Folks I just back in from a day of canvassing and just saw the exit polls. . .I don't believe them. Of course they can be true, but anyone that has canvassed (in person or by phone) in AZ knows that Clark has very strong support. Kerry has virtually no presence on the ground. Here are two examples:

Today I visited with a woman in Sun City who told me she had been contacted 9 times by the Clark campaign and she was surprised that no other candidate has worked as hard. She said she heard from teh Dean campaign once and Kerry once. She is solidly behind Clark.

On Saturday I visited with a Kerry voter who said he was waiting to hear from Kerry's campaign (he had not yet), he said he had heard from Clark and Dean multiple times.

Today there was a much larger than expected turnout in Arizona and the polls are open for a few more hours so Clark supporters don't dispair. I am not prediciting victory here, but I am confident that Clark can do better than he was expected to do. I might not be posting a lot tonight because I am going to be heading to the Clark return viewing party.

3. I heard the same from my Mom
As of Saturday, she had received at least 4 calls and a postcard from the Clark campaign. She and my sister both are voting for Clark.

4. More evidence that most of Kerry voters based on front-runner status?
I haven't met one Kerry supporter in person yet and I never hear anything about Kerry grassroots. I will vote for Kerry in 2004 if he is the nominee, but his support seems very weak other than "Well I always hear his name and he has been a party man for so long. I guess I'll vote for him since I haven't really paid all that much attention."

10. I just talked to my sister
She has heard reports of heavy turnout. She has also heard that there were many absentee ballots requested before Iowa.
