TACT #1 Translates to: OVERConfident Dems will Demand investigations after elections– Everyone loves an underdog, so step 1 in controlling our 2006 election by the press is to portray the Republicans as the underdog, and the Overconfident-becoming cocky-gonna concentrate on impeaching your President and raising your taxes wishy washy Dems as an unknown quantity and a possible "danger".
This tact serves to encourage Republican voters not to sit at home in November, but to go for the “Upset” as that is how the Dems not taking back control of any houses will be portrayed.
Although many conservatives are unhappy with their own party, which might normally lead to crossover voting and sitting at home on election day, the press is more or less begging for Republicans to go for the gusto of rooting for the underdog Republican incumbents by coming out in mass, and saving our government from the “liberal” takeover of various chairmanships by unseemingly “characters” (i.e., Conyers, Rangel and Pelosi), which will lead to endless investigation that keeps the government from doing it’s work; protecting us from the ever closely approaching Bird Flu Pandemic catastrophe hovering at our shores.
SOLUTION - Dems must continue to talk about the need to end the ONE PARTY RULE in Washington. Emphasize that it is the Republicans’ policies that we are seeing the results of; their energy policy; their war policy; their foreign policies; budget policies; their ethics policies, and their environmental policies..., i.e., IT’S THE POLICIES, STUPID! Stay away from the words Impeachment and Censure and talk about getting the F-A-C-T-S out to the American people and always, always use the words CHECKS AND BALANCES.
#2 TACT - Dems are as corrupt as the Republicans, so putting them in power will not end corruption: Translates to: Cites of Kennedy, McKinney, Reid and other Dems to be used to maintain that Corruption is a bi-partisan affair.
This tact will be used again and again, no matter that it isn’t true, and no matter how many Republicans are made to resign, are indicted, or have are retiring in shame. Delay? Who’s that? The Press are not to mention his name. As for Abrahmoff; he is an equal opportunity subject who gave to both parties, and any specifics on that case are not to be discussed until further notice.
SOLUTION - Dems must continue to mention Delay, Cunningham, Ney, and why they are gone or are in trouble. Also Scooter Libby and Karl Rove need to be mentioned by Dems every time they are on TV. Bush’s 750 law changes as well. Don’t let the nation forget what has already happened, ,and they also need to educate the public on what they know about Abramoff....and always, always call the War in Iraq, Bush’s War policy. Bring up the trillion dollar war, the 20,000 casualties and calls for 2006 “responsible” redeployment, and call the Iraq War an "Endless blunder" ran by an Incompetent Administration who has made "Thousands of Mistakes" as quoted by Condi Rice.
#3 TACT - Goss is leaving because of an “Internal Battle at the CIA”, not because of any “scandal” involving sex and prostitution.
Translate into: Goss is really a part of the “shake-up”, even if it wasn’t planned. Press will redivert the issue to the confirmation of Hayden.
SOLUTION: Dems should under no circumstances vote “Yes” on Hayden. They should make his as controversial a figure as possible, and emphasize that Goss was Bush’s pick, and see how that worked out.
There is more.....please add, correct, and discuss. We must be ready for the 2006 battle....which will be a battle not just against the Republicans, but the minion Corporate press that does the Republican’s bidding.
