On Tweety...Guiliani is testing the water for 2008
but won't run against McCain. It sounds like may the best man win.If given 2 choices; whom would you rather run against? I'm not sure.
Guiliani is still "Mayor of the year' from 9-11 to many in the country, pro-choice and no foreign policy experience.
McCain is too old, POW and has strong foreign policy experience.

1. Haha - that's what all the "neo-cons don't like Rudy" propaganda is about!
Positioning for his run. Bush acts like Mussolini, Rudy is more like Hitler. The neo-cons seriously love the guy - it's only the far right religious nutjobs that don't.

3. Guilani would be the easier candidate
messy divorce, pro choice. He would get clobbered on both of those issues.

7. His visit to Iowa was reported earlier on CNN
In contrast to the fictional Arnold Vinick of the West Wing, I doubt that a pro-choice pro-gay rights can get the Republican nomination.

Lucky for us. I think that if he is the candidate he will win. The American voters like a personable president and after 9/11 Giuliani generated a lot of favorable views.

This is why Clinton won while Dole lost, and why Steve Forbes won the NH primaries with his goofy smile vs. sour and dour Dole and Buchanan.

8. Apparently his mob connections with Kerik don't seem to
factor in to any of your assertions. The man is an out an out gangster, how does that comport with his ability to survive the inevitable vetting that occurs during a Presidential campaign? What is it about the stink of organized crime that you think will make him so attractive?
