Candidate horoscopes

Here are the top 4:

Wesley Clark was born on Dec. 23, 1944, with Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Aries, two leadership and executive signs. He has a warrior signature: when civilized it indicates a master strategist; at its most martial, it is ruthlessly determined and messianic. For him, this year is an astrological rite of passage into elder status. His conservative Capricorn nature is now at its most rigorous, so what we see is who he is. Endowed with wit and a youthful nature, General Clark is a man's man. His horoscope shows him at a high point of achievement, having opportunities to be influential and willing to take what he can get.

Howard Dean was born on Nov. 17, 1948, with a Scorpio Sun and Gemini Moon. Thus, Dr. Dean's character contains a paradox: he is both deep and shallow. He can be cool and distant or passionate and intense. The position of two of the planets in his chart shows erratic energy and emotional volatility. His horoscope for June 2003 through the coming spring shows a period of soul searching. Astrologically, it is a time of the mythic "brother battle," in which Mr. Dean's confrontations with others really reflect his own inner conflict.

John Edwards, born on June 10, 1953, is a Gemini with the Moon in Gemini. There is much in his horoscope that makes him the puer aeternus, the eternal boy. His mind is playful and rich with ideas. However, his chart shows him to be a true son of the messenger and trickster god, and so capable of exceptional dualism. His horoscope tells us that he abhors confrontation unless he knows he is morally justified. Having battled inner demons over the last three years, Mr. Edwards will rise this summer like a giant refreshed.

John Kerry, born on Dec. 11, 1943, is a Sagittarius with four Gemini planets in the public relationship sector of his birth chart. He has a judicial character, but also has little tolerance for fools. Born with the rare Mars retrograde, he entered life with a rage — a deep, inner need to overcome (the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. also had the Mars retrograde). He has a strong sense of responsibility as well as feelings of caution about his message. Over the last 18 months the planets have empowered him with core strength. The long-term picture depicts him achieving his highest goals.

1. So, who typically wins the "mythic brother battle"
It sounds like one of those conflicts in which the external person is the loser and the internal person the winner. Which, of course, would not agur well for Dr. Dean.

2. As a NorthCarolinian who worked on Edward's campaign for Senate
and who has been one of his constituents ever since he won that post, I can tell you that this nails him perfectly:

"John Edwards, born on June 10, 1953, is a Gemini with the Moon in Gemini. There is much in his horoscope that makes him the puer aeternus, the eternal boy. His mind is playful and rich with ideas. However, his chart shows him to be a true son of the messenger and trickster god, and so capable of exceptional dualism."

I am really AFRAID of John Edwards possibilities of winning the general election. Edwards has NOT been a good, responsible, nor responsive senator. With the rough mafioso grab for oil, wealth, and power going on globally, Edwards is truly too much of a "boy" to be able to wield the power necessary to straighten things out. A choir boy dealing with the mafia is like an ice cube trying to cool off hell. He would melt. He's may be a strong enough warrior to win a court battle or two against one corporate entity at a time, but he's not made of the stuff that can fight the mob that is running the globe right now.

He may be a real asset to a TEAM of Democrats fighting this mafia, but he sure is not capable of leading the charge -- he's not experienced enough, nor socially predisposed to be able to do that.

I'm glad he's in the race, and I'm glad his voice is being heard -- he's saying a lot of the right things. But Edwards is a CONSERVATIVE Democrat....and he would handle the mafia conservatively, and get trampled.

Just as he voted for the Homeland Security Bill, Patriot Act, IWR, etc., he's a "go along and get along" kind of politician. Not a leader. His record, and my own experience with him, prove that to me.

We need a "big boy", not a choir boy, to deal with what is going on in the world right now.

3. Such an obvious set up
even trivial things such as this echo the NYTimes bias in favor of Kerry. If Dean's "deepness" reflects his scorpio nature, and the shallowness is due to the gemini moon--what of Kerry's Gemini moon and numerous other planets in gemini opposition to his Sun and asc both in Sag? No wonder they call him "horseface"

9. Amateurs. Here's a more positive outlook on Dean.
Not a prediction of a win, but a better assessment of temperament:

Mr. Dean has some strong indicators that he will have won or lost the election about six months before November 2, 2004. He has two powerful indicators of change that are exact during the spring months. During the first half of 2004 Mr. Dean will gain campaign experience. He will look to more experienced politicians for help and he may find their help is sometimes a disadvantage. He wants to go his own way, but will be advised to set a course designed to attract votes. To be nominated and then elected, he will have to make some very uncomfortable compromises.

The second factor that emerges in the spring is Mr. Dean’s deep commitment to the nation and its people. Perhaps his strongest selling point is his demonstrated dedication to helping others. He can win the hearts of the voters by telling how he will improve the lives of ordinary people, and then backing up his promises by taking strong positions in favor of typical Americans.

Mr. Dean can mobilize his power by attracting the female voter. He needs to show that he is a strong family man (which he is). He needs to find ways to attract and engage voters at home. It will be interesting to see how he does this.

-----------

This has been my viewpoint all along. Dean needs to stress that he is a family man, in a long and loving, happy marriage. Kerry is not a good role model. Spin it all you want, his marriages are money-heavy and his annulment was the epitome of hypocrisy.

I'm sure the astrology angle will go over well with the fundies.

11. Thanks for the post!
That's a very interesting read. :) I agree, Dean really needs to connect more with people -- his message has connected him with many, but people need to connect with him, as a person, too.

12. My Tarot Reading for Howard Dean.
After reading that I decided to read Dean's tarot cards for him. I mostly only do it for fun, but let me tell you what I've come up with.

I did a universal six card spread. Doing this allows you to peek into someone's past, present, future, their fears, etc. Each card I drew represents a current fixture in the person's life.

Here is what I got:
The Hermit (for how Dean feels about himself currently).

Judgment (for what he wants most at this moment in time).

Wheel of Fortune (for his fears).

The Chariot (for what is going in his favor).

The Empress (for what is going against him).

The Moon (for the outcome).

Briefly let me tell you what each card means when it is placed in these positions.

The Hermit tells me that he is feeling lonely and is going through a period of introspection. He is struggling to find answers to his questions. The Hermit tells us that it is a time for prudence and patience.

The Judgment card tells us that what he wants most right now is a new start, to end THIS current chapter in his life and have a brand new beginning. The card also represents rewards for past efforts and new opportunities presented. Life from here will pick up pace and the choices he makes will have far reaching implications.

The Wheel of Fortune tells me he is afraid of everything turning for the worse, and that he is experiencing a run of bad luck. But the Wheel of Fortune always turns around even when it's against him it will naturally turn around in his favor and bring good fortune to him.

The Chariot tells me that his drive -- his ability to continue on even in the face of great obstacles is going in his favor. It tells me that he isn't a quitter. It tells of conflicts ending in victory, it tells that if he keeps battling on he will ultimately succeed. It also represents a time of movement and change and represents journey related to work.

The Empress tells me that there are conflicts around him, frustrations and possibly a breakup in some type of relationship. It warns for him to be careful and not to over-react. What he needs most are people who love and support him -- he needs to be surrounded by those things.

The final card was the Moon. It tells us that he is confused and fearful and allowing his anxieties to hold him back. He needs to learn to trust in himself and when that happens all will end well. It also tells us that things seem to be tough or confusing but also tells us that he should stick with it and that he's made the right choice. The Moon is almost always a good omen it helps guide us to open our minds to new and unexpected possibilities.

I'm by no means a professional, but that's my reading for Howard Dean. It also looks and sounds like it is pretty much dead on.

17. Dennis is a Libra, Oct 8th. Libras and Geminis are the best
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 07:31 PM by genius
So I guess if I was basing it on horoscopes, I'd still vote for Dennis first and Edwards would be my second choice. J F Kennedy was a Gemini. Lennon was a libra.
