Village near Baghdad airport gets clean water

CAMP LIBERTY, IRAQ —

Airport Village, located near Baghdad's International Airport, now has clean drinking
water thanks to the completion of the a water tower and pipeline project, according
to an April 19 article in the US Department of Defense News.

Coalition forces coordinated the project, which was funded by the
Overseas Humanitarian Disaster and Civic Aid program, the article said.

I thought American taxpayers were funding these repairs?? :wtf:
Are those USA or Military groups?

The project replaced the old Airport Village water network with an 8-inch pipeline that
improved the water pressure and water accessibility for the village, the article said.

The new water tower expands the ability of the village to have water during peak periods
of the summer months and has a three to four-day storage capacity, the article said.

I mean, I'm really glad one village now has drinking water...that's a good thing.
What about the rest of the country?

1. And our troops are drinking water with SHIT in it!
Former KBR employees and water quality specialists Ben Carter and Ken May told HalliburtonWatch that KBR knowingly exposes troops and civilians to contaminated water from Iraq’s Euphrates River. One internal KBR email provided to HalliburtonWatch says that, for “possibly a year,” the level of contamination at one camp was two times the normal level for untreated water. ...

5. With such bad things happening
there everyday, it's very hard to see any good things happening.
But just thought I'd mention one I ran across.
"If it bleeds, it leads", problem is,
that's what IS happening there everyday!
So sad.....

6. Good point -- when was the last time you heard your local news anchor
deliver some good news? Isn't it always stabbings, carjackings, kidnappings, ? Does that mean the situation in Iraq is better than it is here--because a town got some water?? :silly:
