This makes me think .....
that the Secret Service contingent assigned to the White House is in on letting Fuckface go down, down, down.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/20/AR2006042001946_pf.html

Dana Milbank's page two coverage of yesterday's abomination of an "official visit" of Hu is terrific - unlike the tepid coverage on page one.

I hate the Post, but, hey, it's our local paper.

1. Bush is an incompetent boob, the secret service are not....
so it was an intential set-up by someone, the question is who?

By the way, I liked this quote:

And he got an Oval Office photo op with President Bush, who nodded and smiled as if he understood Chinese while Hu spoke.

Yeah, just like he smiles and nods as if he understands English.

:dunce:

2. LOL -- Yeah, it's all the same to him.
He doesn't understand any of it.

It is pretty funny when you think about it. He's too stupid to remember that he doesn't have to do the Fake Nod of I'm Listening and Paying Attention when someone is speaking in a language * doesn't speak. Whew ... when you think about it ... dang ...

3. LOL! Speaking of yesterday....
Why was bush yanking on Hu's jacket yesterday...and what was the aftermath of that?

4. Hu had the audacity..
to try and walk down the stairs ahead of the Grand Chimptator, so he got grabbed. The aftermath is that we just spent millions of dollars trying to suck-up and make a grand show to the Chinese government, and then proceeded to insult the hell out of them.

5. I have a question.

Did they play the wrong anthem like I've been reading on DU, or did they simply announce it incorrectly? The article you linked doesn't mention they played the wrong song, only that it was announced incorrectly.

6. No wrong anthem
the announcer said "the Republic of China", instead of the proper name "the Peoples Republic of China"

9. So they played the right song, but merely referred to the nation
of 1.3 billion people by the name of an unrecognized nation of 23 million.

"Welcome to China, Mr Bush. In honor of your visit we shall now hear the Anthem of your Republic of Rhode Island."

10. They played the correct anthem,
but screwed up the "official announcement."

This kind of error is HUGE (or should I say "HUGH"?) in Chinese culture. It's a real slap in the face.

Fuckface And His Thugs Squatting Illegally In The Oval Office are burdened not only with arrogance and stupidity; they're oblivious to the harm that they do simply by being stupid and rude.

7. The 'interruption' went on for 90 seconds.
Yep. It was a set up. A LIHOP, at least. The Secret Service, if not warned in advance, would have been on top of her in 15 seconds -- you don't allow crazy people to cause a disturbance when the President is within spitting distance.

And Hu certainly knows that, too. He comes from a security state - he undoubtedly has a 'secret service' protection of his own, when not entrusting his security to a host nation that is obsessive about security itself. They would have told him all about *'s Secret Service -- about the extraordinary precautions he takes both at home and, particularly, when traveling abroad. If this happened, it's because someone let it happen.

So why does * want to piss off China? Because China is so closely connected to Iran? How does that work for Bushco?

because they persecute Christians and force women to have abortions.

11. 90 seconds?
I heard 3 minutes. Like nothing that ever happened before in such a setting.

See, she's a legitimate member of the press corps, with real credentials. That might have fooled the Secret Service.

You bet someone let it happen. And all the other gaffes were nothing but Fuckface's crew's insolence and arrogance and ignorance. They embarrass us everywhere in the world, even in our own back yard.

Don't read a thing into it, because these stupid bastards don't have a clue as to what consequences or diplomatic suicide mean. They dwell in a vacuum of intellectual and historical vapidity, with absolutely no background, no credentials, no experience, no awareness of our very small place in this very big world.

They're hicks. The really bad kind.

15. "Bush at one point tapped his foot on the ground."
The meeting in the Oval Office brought more of the same. In front of the cameras, Bush thanked Hu for his "frankness" -- diplomatic code for disagreement -- and Hu stood expressionless. The two unexpectedly agreed to take questions from reporters, but Bush grew impatient as Hu gave a long answer about trade, made all the longer by the translation. Bush at one point tapped his foot on the ground. "It was a very comprehensive answer," he observed when Hu finished.

Get out!
He tapped his foot on the ground as a sign of impatience?
Do people actually do that?
jeez
:-(
